Preview
Canada are one of the most successful nations to play in the Gold Cup after their victories in the CONCACAF championships in 1985 and 2000.
However, their opponents are ranked by FIFA at No. 26 in the world, 84 places above their lowly standing.

The Canucks had too much in their locker for French Guiana in attack, but they showed defensive frailties late in the game as they lost intensity.
Davies' performance excited Canadian supporters, and he could develop into a star of the tournament if his country can advance.
According to MLS Soccer, Canada international Scott Arfield declared how impressed he was by his team-mate.
"He's probably the most exciting kid—he's still a kid—that I've ever played with and seen with my own eyes," said Arfield. "By far he's the most technically-gifted, humble, modest young man that I think is going to go from strength to strength.”

Marco Urena combined with Rodney Wallace for Costa Rica against Honduras, despite the Catrachos controlling large periods of the contest.
The Costa Ricans' 1-0 win was fully deserved as they dug deep to protect their slender advantage through the second half.
On paper, Costa Rica would have the edge due to their personnel, but Canada are in goalscoring form and are ready for a battle at the Cathedral of American Soccer.
La Sele have the defensive presence ready for a challenge, but their opponents are loaded with Davies and his ability to find the net.
Predicted Score: Canada win 1-0
