Jonathan Williams Found Not Guilty in DUI Case
Buffalo Bills running back Jonathan Williams was found not guilty of driving under the influence Thursday after being arrested last July.
Williams' attorney's office confirmed the ruling to Mike Rodak of ESPN.com. He rushed for 94 yards and one touchdown on 27 carries in his rookie year in 2016.
Police in Fayetteville, Arkansas, pulled Williams over last July and arrested him on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The police report indicated Williams had "red, watery eyes" and showed signs of intoxication but refused a breathalyzer test.

The state of Arkansas has automatic license suspensions in place for drivers who refuse chemical testing. It is unclear what legal defense Williams' team mounted to suggest he was not driving under the influence.
"The prosecution simply didn't have enough evidence to prove he was intoxicated," Williams' attorney, Shane Wilkinson, said to TMZ Sports. "Jonathan is a good person, and he is glad this is behind him so he can concentrate on his family and football."
Williams is expected to compete for the Bills' backup running back spot behind LeSean McCoy. Thursday's verdict should help him avoid a suspension from the NFL and clear the way for him to pursue the No. 2 spot in camp.
