Mike Williams' Back Injury Diagnosed as Mild Disk Herniation, Held Out of OTAs
Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Mike Williams will miss the Bolts' remaining organized team activities due to a back injury.
The Chargers announced Tuesday the seventh overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft has a "mild disk herniation in his lower back."
Williams' injury originally occurred during rookie minicamp in mid-May.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Eric D. Williams of ESPN.com passed along comments from Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn two weeks later during OTAs, and he expressed concern about the lack of work the 22-year-old Clemson product was getting at a crucial stage.
"I'd like to see him out there next week because he's getting behind right now, and we've got to get him back out on the field," Lynn said. "If he wasn't a rookie it would be different. But he has so much to learn, and some of this you can only learn on the field."
Los Angeles didn't provide an official timetable of Williams' return with training camp now less than two months away.
The playmaker shined during his final collegiate season with Clemson. He racked up 98 catches for 1,361 yards and 11 touchdowns across 15 games as the Tigers completed a journey to the national championship with a 35-31 victory over Alabama in the title game.
In April, he explained his enthusiasm about getting drafted by the Chargers inside the top 10, per Hayley Elwood of the team's official website.
"It's still kind of a dream come true," Williams said. "It's everything I've dreamed of; with my mom last night and the rest of my family, it felt like a dream come true. Just for everybody to come there who helped me get to this moment, my family (and) my friends. Just to celebrate with those guys was fun."
He was expected to make an immediate impact for Los Angeles alongside Keenan Allen and Tyrell Williams at receiver. Those chances of a smooth transition to the pro game will begin to fade the longer he's held out of offseason work with the lingering back issues, though.
