College Baseball Regional 2017: Results, Highlights and Bracket from Sunday
Regional action at the College World Series rolled on Sunday, with 15 elimination games in the afternoon that will trim the field considerably.
Games will continue well into the evening once the early slate of win-or-go-home meetings is complete.
Victors from the afternoon contests will return to their respective fields for regional final showdowns against undefeated clubs. In those late games, the unbeaten teams will be able to clinch super regional berths with just one win Sunday evening.
However, those undefeated teams won't be able to nab a spots in a super regional if they fall Sunday night. Rather, they'll be forced to play a do-or-die clash Monday to sort out qualification.
As things unfold, the schedule and results will be updated below, complete with a recap of notable finishes.

Notable Results
Mississippi State 5, Illinois-Chicago 4
The Mississippi State Bulldogs narrowly avoided disaster and staved off elimination Sunday afternoon with a 5-4 win over the Illinois-Chicago Flames.
Though the Bulldogs kept the Flames' bats cold for the majority of Saturday's outing, Illinois-Chicago came alive in the eighth inning and propelled three runners across the plate to narrow its deficit to one. Mickey McDonald recorded a two-run single, and Rob Calabrese added an RBI knock.
Mississippi State, however, settled down, and reliever Riley Self recorded a fly out and a strikeout with two men on to end the eighth.
Self then returned to the mound in the ninth and loaded the bases, but he got another strikeout and kept the ball on the ground for the final out.
North Carolina 10, Florida Gulf Coast 1
The No. 1-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels put on a clinic against the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles to secure a 10-1 win.
At the plate, the Tar Heels rattled the Eagles with three runs in the first two innings—and that production opened the floodgates. All told, North Carolina had eight players combine for 15 hits, with Brandon Riley and Cody Roberts contributing three apiece.
Riley was also one of three Tar Heels—along with Kyle Datres and Tyler Lynn—who had two RBI apiece.
On the mound, starter Tyler Baum allowed three hits and a single earned run over 5.1 innings before the bullpen shut down FGCU.
In fact, relievers Austin Bergner, Jason Morgan and Trevor Gay combined to allow just one hit and strike out four over the game's final 3.2 innings.
Next up for the Tar Heels is a meeting with the Davidson Wildcats in the regional final.
Sam Houston State 9, Arizona 3
The Arizona Wildcats are headed home after the Sam Houston State Bearkats built an insurmountable 9-0 lead through two innings en route to a comfortable six-run win.
The offensive avalanche came in the second, when the Bearkats pushed eight runs across the plate thanks, in part, to doubles from shortstop Andrew Fregia and catcher Robie Rojas.
Interestingly enough, the Wildcats actually out-hit the Bearkats 10-9. However, Arizona left 15 runners on base and failed to come up with clutch hits with runners in scoring position to keep pace with Sam Houston State's scalding offense.
Clemson 6, UNC-Greensboro 3
The Clemson Tigers entered the seventh inning of their elimination game against UNC-Greensboro down 3-2, but a two-run home run from shortstop Logan Davidson turned the tide for good.
After Davidson's shot gave the Tigers a 4-3 lead, UNC-Greensboro came a bit unraveled when a Bryce Hensley wild pitch scored Reed Rohlman.
At that point, the Tigers were able to exhale (and dance) with a spot in the Regional Final firmly in sight.
Clemson punched its ticket to the nightcap thanks to some sensational relief work from Owen Griffith, as well. In 4.1 innings, Griffith stuck out five and walked one while allowing one hit to earn the win.
Davidson 2, North Carolina 1
Davidson delivered by far the biggest upset of the tournament so far, beating the Tar Heels 2-1 Sunday.
D1Baseball.com's Kendall Rogers and Baseball America's John Manuel put the result in perspective:
Will Robertson brought home the Wildcats' two runs, plating Brett Centracchio and Max Bazin on a single in the fifth inning. Michael Busch homered for North Carolina in the bottom half of the inning, but the Tar Heels offense as a whole couldn't figure out Davidson starter Josh Hudson.
Hudson went seven innings, allowing six hits and two walks while striking out six. Durin O'Linger replaced Hudson to start the eighth and shut the door over the final two innings.
