Real Madrid can increase a three-point lead at the top of La Liga and put rivals Barcelona under intense pressure by heaping more misery on relegation-threatened Sporting Gijon on Saturday.
Los Blancos will play before a wounded Barca side hosts Real Sociedad in a potentially sticky fixture at the Camp Nou. Elsewhere, Tony Adams will make his debut as Granada manager on Sunday but may find UEFA Europa League quarter-finalists Celta Vigo too tough.

Preview
Real will be full of confidence after beating Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday. Los Merengues left Germany with a 2-1 comeback win courtesy of record-breaking forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
The prolific No. 7 has now put up a ton of goals in Europe, per the Champions League official Twitter account:
Ronaldo is also in deadly form in front of goal in Spain's top flight. He trails only Barca duo Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi in the race for the Pichichi, after scoring 19 times, per WhoScored.com.
Ronaldo can torment a Sporting defence breached 61 times this season.
However, it will be interesting to see how much Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane rotates his squad with next week's return leg against Bayern at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in mind.
Zidane has plenty of options, including centre-forward Alvaro Morata, as well as schemers James Rodriguez, Isco and exciting youngster 21-year-old Marco Asensio.
Real boast enough firepower to pad their lead at the top and put the onus on Barca to keep up.
The Blaugrana can keep pace, despite failing to score in each of their last two matches, defeats to Malaga and Juventus. Even so, Barcelona should never be short of goals for long, not when Messi and Suarez are available.

However, this group is sure to miss Brazilian forward Neymar, who will begin a three-match suspension after being booked twice in Malaga.
It would help Barca's forward line if manager Luis Enrique ensured there's more ingenuity in midfield. Starting Andres Iniesta and Ivan Rakitic would make it happen.
Yet like Zidane, Enrique has a choice to make regarding how he juggles domestic competition with the Champions League. Barca need to overcome a 3-0 deficit to get past Juve, so Enrique may be tempted to rest a few names ahead of next Wednesday's second leg.
It would be a risky proposition, though, against a Sociedad squad with ample quality in attack, particularly in the form of ex-Arsenal striker Carlos Vela.

Speaking of connections to Arsenal, former Gunners great Adams will oversee his first game in charge of relegation candidates Granada. Adams was a surprise choice who has already admitted he is an "interim coach" looking for a miracle, per Sky Sports.
Needing a miracle is one thing, but Celta won't be in a charitable mood. The visitors also have the quality up front to punish Adams' men.
Crafty striker Iago Aspas can outwit the Granada defence, especially if creative types Pablo Hernandez and Pione Sisto get the supply right. Expect a tough debut for Adams.
It's also safe to assume Barca will keep pace with Real in the title race, despite their recent struggles. However, Enrique and his players are fast running out of room for error if they hope to retain the trophy.
