FIFA 17 Ultimate Team: FUT Team of the Week 30, in-Form Player Stats Revealed

Matt JonesApr 12, 2017

Five players are rated at 90 or higher in the Team of the Week 30 selection in FIFA 17's Ultimate Team, including Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil and Juventus man Paulo Dybala.

Hazard netted a sublime goal for the Blues in their win against Bournemouth, while a goal and an assist from Mesut Ozil helped the Gunners to a 3-0 victory over West Ham United last Wednesday; Dybala, meanwhile, set up one of Gonzalo Higuain’s goals in the 2-0 win for the Serie A leaders over Chievo.

FUT 17 players could hardly have hoped for a more stacked release in terms of attacking talent, with no more than five forwards and creative midfielders boasting new ratings of 90 or higher in the TOTW 30 lineup:

Eden Hazard, Chelsea

For much of the 2016-17, the addition of N’Golo Kante has been hailed as the catalyst behind Chelsea’s surge to the summit of the Premier League table. But Hazard’s return to form this season has been just as vital.

His goal against Bournemouth was indicative of a man at the top of his game. The Belgium international burst into the box, slalomed past the goalkeeper and tucked away a neat left-footed shot.

Per Squawka Football, Hazard proved to be far too hot to handle for the Bournemouth defence on Saturday:

Arsenal legend and Sky Sports pundit Thierry Henry believes the Chelsea man has been the best player in the division this season:

His ability to mesh tight control with explosive speed and ruthless finishing is unmatched in much of world football.

The base attributes on Hazard’s upgraded card reflect that, with 94 for pace and 97 for dribbling meaning he’ll be difficult for any defender to get near.

Mesut Ozil, Arsenal

Although Ozil and his Arsenal team-mates were the subject of massive criticism following their 3-0 surrender at Crystal Palace on Monday, in last week’s 3-0 win over West Ham United, the German pulled the strings.

Indeed, not only did Ozil fire home a crucial opener from the edge of the penalty area, he produced an excellent low cross for Theo Walcott to double the team’s advantage.

As noted by sports journalist Chris Smith, after what had been a rough 2017 for the playmaker, it looked to be a fine return to form:

Although the progress the Gunners made that night has since been undone by the appalling performance at Palace, Ozil’s display is enough to earn him a boost. And given a 91 rating, it’s a card plenty will be desperate to get their hands on this week.

Paulo Dybala, Juventus

Dybala caught the eye in sensational style in Juventus’ 3-0 win over Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, and there were signs he was beginning to find top gear as Juventus breezed past Chievo in Serie A.

Indeed, while Dybala has found goals tough to come by in the Italian top flight as of late—his last was the 97th-minute winner against AC Milan on March 10—he has other assets aside from sticking the ball in the back of the net. Most notably, his creativity.

La Joya was tasked with dropping deep earlier in the campaign in an attempt to facilitate space for Higuain. He struggled initially, but as OptaPaolo noted after Dybala’s assist on Saturday, he has adjusted well:

There have been times this season when Dybala has been frustrating to watch, and there are areas in which he can improve. But after his extraordinary showing against Barcelona, he seems to be peaking at just about the perfect time.

And that’ll make him a popular choice in Ultimate Team, too, with an overall rating of 90. The fact he’s only good enough for a spot on the bench this week is a testament to the quality of performances that were on show elsewhere over the weekend.
