Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel was defiant about his team's collapse in Munich, hinting the mixed and youthful squad he chose altered his side's fluency, per Jonathan Harding of DW Sports:
BVB were out of sorts against Bayern, but Tuchel will know what his players lack in experience they can make up for with guile in attacking areas. Attackers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ousmane Dembele and Christian Pulisic can torment any defence, particularly a Monaco back line that Manchester City breached six times in the previous round.
The Monegasque club may struggle to protect its defence adequately without midfield destroyer Tiemoue Bakayoko. He will miss out through suspension, according to the tournament's official website.
There is also a doubt regarding full-back Djibril Sidibe, who was recently hospitalised with appendicitis, per the club (h/t FourFourTwo). If Sidibe can't play, the visitors are sure to miss his raiding runs down the flank.
Fortunately for Monaco, they can still rely on their own ample firepower up top. In particular, 31-year-old striker Radamel Falcao is in prolific form, per the Champions League:
Falcao is sure to receive quality support from 18-year-old sensation Kylian Mbappe. The teenager bossed proceedings against City in the last 16, but manager Leonardo Jardim has called on him to continue developing, per Goal's Sacha Pisani: "He needs to keep improving and keep his high level."
Even though Falcao and Mbappe pose a major threat, Tuchel's Dortmund still boast the talent in attack to do enough to take a lead back to Monaco for the second leg on Wednesday, April 19.
