Marvin Lewis Doesn't Think He Will Sign Bengals Contract Extension Before Season
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis is entering the final year of his contract, but he doesn't think he will see an extension anytime soon.
"I don't anticipate anything happening," he said Thursday, per Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com.
Terrell noted Lewis and Bengals owner Mike Brown agreed to a one-year extension before the 2016 season, which he signed in May.

Lewis didn't seem exceptionally worried about his contract status at this point, saying, "It's not really a subject that's on my mind. I don't think it's on Mike's mind, either. I've gone into many seasons without a new contract. It's not a focus for me."
The head coach has accumulated an 118-103-3 record since he took over the position in 2003. The Bengals have been to the playoffs in five of the last six years, although they were just 6-9-1 in 2016.
What's more, Cincinnati is yet to win a postseason game under Lewis and hasn't won one since the 1990 campaign, which Terrell noted is currently the longest drought in the NFL.
