WWE NXT: Updated Prospect Rankings and Analysis, Predictions for Week of April 6
WWE NXT is in the midst of a metamorphosis.
NXT TakeOver: Orlando welcomed new talent while the post-WrestleMania call-up season plucked a number of stars from the developmental brand. The roster is now left rearranged, and NXT's hierarchy is in flux.
Tye Dillinger and Shinsuke Nakamura both debuted on SmackDown. The Revival is now on Raw.
To offset those losses, NXT has Aleister Black, Ruby Riot and soon Drew McIntyre to plug in. The brooding, tattooed Black looked tremendous in his debut, wowing the crowd in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday. He is surely going to be one of the brand's cornerstones moving forward.
On Wednesday's NXT, Otis Dozovic made a statement of his own, albeit a less memorable one. The big man looked good during Heavy Machinery's latest win.
The following is a look at how Dozovic, Black and NXT champ Bobby Roode all stack up against their peers. Who is most ready to thrive on the main roster? Who would make the biggest impact once there?
The wrestlers' mic work, ring skills, charisma, gimmick and look determined the rankings.

Black Now Aboard
Following weeks of eerie vignettes, Black arrived in grand fashion at TakeOver: Orlando.
He rose like a vampire out of a coffin and strode through smoke en route to battle with Andrade "Cien" Almas. The two men then proceded to put on one of the night's better matches.
Black's strikes were beautiful, violent works of art. He was smooth throughout and exuded a predatory air. The Dutchman showed great presence and technical skill.
Add the memorable nature of his entrance, and Black is quite the package right now.
And he got quite the salute from a Hall of Famer after the bout. Shawn Michaels said of Black during an interview with Cathy Kelley in an interview that aired on WWE's Facebook page: "He's a strange cat and he has an unbelievable future. He'll be unlike anything we've seen in a really long time."
It's hard to argue with The Heartbreak Kid there.
How Glorious is Roode?
Roode fended off Nakamura for the second time, keeping his grip on the NXT title. Their match in Orlando outdid their first encounter, but it spotlighted The Glorious One's limitations.
The champ plays a heel extremely well. He's got tons of experience and it shows. Roode is a strong storyteller between the ropes as well.
He just may not be a fit for Raw or SmackDown, though.
Roode employs a slow-paced, throwback style. His matches can be underwhelming at times, and they often require a patient audience.
Jake Barnett of ProWrestling.net commented on Roode's speed:
That's fine for NXT, where diehards comprise much of the crowd. More casual fans may not buy into Roode's approach. Today's audiences are used to seeing the electric offenses of wrestlers like Finn Balor, AJ Styles and Seth Rollins.
Roode may not be able to keep up with those men in terms of energy. Ruling the NXT brand and serving as an in-ring mentor to rising stars is the better role for him.
Impressions of Dozovic
Heavy Machinery continues to get a comfy spot in the spotlight.
Dozovic and Tucker Knight added to their recent win streak by taking down The Bollywood Boyz on Wednesday night. It was no great match by any means, but the robust Dozovic had his moments.
His power is mighty impressive. He followed up a smothering bear hug by flinging his opponent far across the ring.
He showed solid intensity and decent facial expressions, although he bordered on being cartoonish in that area.
Dozovic's Rhyno-like build isn't prototypical, but in an era filled with guys who are 5'10'' and around 200 pounds, he'll stand out. Knight has shown himself to have more presence than his tag team partner. Dozovic, though, will have ample chance to show off what he can do as Heavy Machinery's roll continues.
Female Wrestlers
| Rank | Wrestler | Height | Notes |
| 1. | Asuka | 5'3" | Elite in-ring performer, great presence, top-notch striker, limited English-language skills. |
| 2. | Ember Moon | 5'2" | Great all-around athlete, excellent showmanship, good presence, promos remain stiff. |
| 3. | Nikki Cross | 5'2" | Skilled brawler, great energy, standing out in Sanity faction. |
| 4. | Peyton Royce | 5'7" | Continues to blossom as heel, solid in the ring, good showmanship. |
| 5. | Ruby Riot | 5'4" | Quality brawler, good presence, unique look. |
| 6. | Billie Kay | 5'8" | Plays a heel well, flamboyant, good energy, sometimes awkward in the ring. |
| 7. | Aliyah | 5'2" | Inconsistent overall, strong striker, ample energy, high ceiling. |
| 8. | Mandy Rose | 5'4" | Has progressed to a degree in the ring, strong presence, star quality. |
| 9. | Daria Berenato | 5'7" | Inconsistent ring work, learning to harness gimmick, good intensity. |
| 10. | Liv Morgan | 5'3" | Remains awkward in the ring, quick, good energy. |
Royce Remains Solid
It's clear Royce has made an effort to perfect the craft of being a heel. She has grown as a villain, becoming more convincingly heartless and egotistical.
Against Aliyah on Wednesday, she mocked her foe's cat ears. She nailed her with hard strikes. Royce stalked and gloated en route to a strong performance.
The Australian grappler remains reliable in the ring, although she has failed to be spectacular. She and her partner in crime, Billie Kay, will likely get their shot on the main roster eventually, but her ceiling remains only moderately high.
It's hard to imagine her moving past women like Sasha Banks or Becky Lynch on the totem pole. A brand's midcard workhorse will likely be her long-term role.
Predictions
McIntyre will be in the title picture shortly after he debuts. The former intercontinental champion is fresh off tearing it up on the British independent scene and showing how much WWE missed the boat on him with his work at Impact Wrestling.
The brand needs him to provide star power and work against the top-tier talent. By this time next year, he's bound to be holding gold.
Riot will be a key addition for the women's division and will make a quick climb of her own. She boasts more presence than many of her peers. And her physical style will get her noticed in a hurry.
She and McIntyre will soon have the NXT food chain looking a lot different.
