Masters 2017 Weather: Latest Forecast Entering Round 1 at Augusta
Although the rain that washed out Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, on Wednesday has subsided, conditions for Thursday's first round of the Masters still figure to be difficult.
According to Weather.com, there is no chance of precipitation Thursday, but with a high temperature of just 62 degrees and winds of 24 mph, the world's top golfers won't necessarily be playing in a favorable environment.
Per ESPN.com's Bob Harig, the temperatures at Augusta are in line to be colder than they have been for the Masters in a decade.
Three-time Masters champion Phil Mickelson is of the belief that some golfers will be impacted by the adverse conditions:
"The weather is going to come in and that's going to magnify the misses for a lot of players, which means you need to miss it in the correct spots. Even though you might miss it big, if you're in the right spot, you can take advantage of your short game and salvage a lot of pars.
And I hope to rely on that knowledge and skill to keep myself in it heading into the weekend where players less experienced with the golf course will probably miss it in the wrong spots and shoot themselves out of it.
"
According to the Associated Press (h/t ESPN.com), rain forced the shortening of final practice and the cancellation of the Masters Par-3 Contest on Wednesday.
A lack of rain means there shouldn't be any additional stoppages at Augusta for the duration of the tournament, but birdies will be at a premium due to such strong winds.
