Chelsea Transfer News: Ben Gibson Eyed Amid Liverpool, Manchester City Rumours
The Premier League's top six teams are all interested in Middlesbrough's Ben Gibson this summer, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City particularly keen having scouted him frequently this season.
That's according to the Mirror's John Cross, who reported Gibson has also caught the eye of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, and while he is "hugely committed" to Boro he "will be among the most coveted defenders on the market" this summer.
Middlesbough are in serious danger of relegation due to their inability to score goals, but keeping them out is their biggest strength—they've shipped just 33, bettered only by Chelsea, Spurs, City, United and Everton.

Gibson has been a key part of that as one of Middlesbrough's top performers throughout the season, and he was rewarded with his first England call-up on Friday.
Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate explained his inclusion in the squad, as he replaced the injured Chris Smalling:
The Evening Gazette's Dominic Shaw believes Southgate was correct in selecting him, while Jonathon Taylor of the same outlet praised the centre-back's professional mentality:
Gibson, who turned 24 earlier in March, did not make it on to the pitch as England beat Lithuania 2-0 on Sunday, but he was worthy of his place in the squad thanks to his assured and all-action performances at the Riverside Stadium this season.
Here's a look at his numbers for the campaign, courtesy of Squawka:
| Apps | 27 |
| Tackles | 18 |
| Aerial Duels | 34 |
| Interceptions | 41 |

Liverpool and City particularly need to improve at the back with both sides unconvincing, frequently exposed and lacking strength in depth.
Chelsea have the best defensive record in the Premier League along with Tottenham, having conceded just 21 goals, but with John Terry out of the picture and the club almost certainly back in the UEFA Champions League next season, they could use another centre-back.
Gary Cahill is also 31, so it would be prudent to start preparing a long-term replacement for him in the next year or two.
Gibson has impressed this year, and despite his loyalty to Boro, he could be on the move if the Premier League's elite come calling, particularly if Middlesbrough go down—he could make a shrewd purchase.
