Tshwane Open 2017: Friday Leaderboard Scores and Highlights
Alexander Bjork and Scott Jamieson share the lead at the halfway point of the 2017 Tshwane Open, having each amassed an overall score of 10-under at the Pretoria Country Club.
The duo are one shot clear of James Morrison after two rounds having impressed again on Day 2 in Waterkloof, South Africa. Jamieson shot a six-under 65, while Bjork, after shooting a 65 on Thursday, was four-under for his round.
The best effort of the day came from Thomas Aiken, though, as he notched 10 birdies and a bogey in a nine-under par round of 62. The South African is just two back off the lead as a result.

Friday Recap

It was Bjork who set the pace for much of the day at the Pretoria Country Club. While there was a minor delay to play due to thunderstorms, the Swede kept his rhythm intact and continued where he left off on Day 1.
His round wasn't quite as imperious as Thursday's, as some loose play at the fourth offset an early birdie at the second. But Bjork is clearly capable of making a lot of birdies around this course and did exactly that at the sixth, before three in succession followed between 10 and 12.
A dropped shot at 16 threatened to put a minor dampener on his day, although as we can see here, he finished with a flourish:
His tactic for the weekend? Keep doing the same things.
"I will try to play as I did these first two days," he said, per the European Tour. "Have the same strategy, practice a little bit on the irons and the putts now this afternoon but trying to go out and play well tomorrow also. I'm happy! I played well today."
He may have to play even better to clinch the title, with some players in close proximity building momentum, including Jamieson.
The Scotsman made the most of a solid start to the tournament on Thursday and produced more sensible play in his second round before deciding to attack the course; he birdied four of the five holes between the fifth and the ninth.
A bogey at 11 could have drained his confidence, but Jamieson kept on going and made three more birdies before signing off on a brilliant 65.
Here's a listen to what he had to say, per the Sunshine Tour:
His compatriot and former Open champion Paul Lawrie was impressed by his efforts:
Morrison is the man who trails the leaders by one, as he again put together a very handy 18 holes. Despite a bogey at the second, the Englishman churned out six birdies from the seventh onwards. He'll feel there's room for improvement over the weekend, too.

The star of the day was undoubtedly Aiken, though, who posted a stunning round of 62. As we can see here, it's rare for a player to be so prolific in terms of birdies on the European Tour:
Peter Karmis and Justin Walters are alongside the 33-year-old on the leaderboard, although neither will be feeling quite as good as Aiken when play begins on Saturday.
With that in mind, when Bjork and Jamieson head out in the final pairing, Aiken is undoubtedly the man they'll be keeping the closest eye on from the chasing pack.
