Jordan Larsson Attacked by Fans After Helsingborgs' Relegation
Manager Henrik Larsson's son, Jordan, was attacked by masked fans after Helsingborgs were relegated from the Swedish top flight on Sunday following their 2-1 defeat to Halmstads.
Jordan scored a late goal for Helsingborgs, but they then conceded twice to be condemned to relegation from the Allsvenskan for the first time in 23 years.
Per the Daily Mail's Spencer Morgan, masked Helsingborgs fans then came onto the pitch and stripped the 19-year-old of his shirt before being confronted by the manager.
The older Larsson revealed to the Swedish press that he did not know his son had been targeted before he went over to face the fans, per Morgan:
"I understand their frustration. That's why I went over there too. It was not the smartest thing for me to do. I did not see that they were attacking Jordan, but if I had I would have gone in there.
I live and work here in town. I will look over my shoulder a little more and make sure not to walk alone in town. If they (hooligans) come, they come. We have many dogs at home.
"
It was a devastating blow for five-time Swedish champions Helsingborgs to lose after Jordan Larsson had put them ahead 1-0 with just eight minutes remaining. Marcus Mathisen's strikes in the 87th and 90th minutes turned the game on its head, and Halmstads emerged victorious at Helsingborgs' Olympia stadium.
Henrik Larsson, 45, has been in charge of Helsingborgs since 2015 and reportedly is planning to remain as manager despite Sunday's disappointment, per Morgan.
