Cliff Harris Arrested: Latest Details, Mugshot and More on Former Oregon Star
Former Oregon Ducks football star Cliff Harris was arrested early Sunday morning for theft, drug possession and possession of paraphernalia, according to TMZ Sports.
The New York Daily News posted Harris' mugshot:
TMZ added that the 25-year-old had violated his probation "from a 2015 incident in which Harris set fire to a grassy median in Fresno, California."
According to Andrew Greif of the Oregonian, Harris was sentenced to one year in prison and three years of probation due to that incident.
Harris played three seasons at Oregon from 2009 to 2011 as a defensive back and kick returner, recording eight interceptions and four punt-return touchdowns.
His sophomore year in 2010 was his finest, as he recorded six picks and four punt returns for touchdowns.
The following year, the program dismissed him for violating team rules that also involved drugs.
Once a promising NFL prospect, Harris was given a chance by the New York Jets when they signed him in 2013. But they released him after he was arrested for possession of marijuana. Four days after his release, he was arrested for domestic harassment outside of a Buffalo Wild Wings, per Greif.
Harris faces felony charges for the violation of probation, while the substance and paraphernalia possessions are misdemeanors.
