Recap
Liverpool scored six goals against Watford to grab the lead in the Premier League standings, a spot they hadn't occupied in some time, per Bwin:
Summer arrival Mane once again proved to be the driving force behind the Reds' attack, as he combined well with Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino and scored two goals.
He opened the scoring after 30 minutes and struck again in the second half, before manager Jurgen Klopp took him off for Georginio Wijnaldum. The Dutchman also scored, as did Coutinho, Firmino and Emre Can. Daryl Janmaat scored the lone Watford goal.
Per Squawka Football, Liverpool's three-headed monster in attack was once again on point:
Over in Wales, Manchester United grabbed a much-needed win over Swansea, and to the delight of the fans and manager Jose Mourinho, two of the club's top summer signings powered the victory.
Former Juventus star Paul Pogba was excellent, scoring and showing his tremendous passing range from midfield. While his goal was a stunner—a volley from outside the box—it was his composure in midfield that really stood out and is a positive sign for the future.
But it was Ibrahimovic who stole the show with a brace—his first goals in the league since September.
Per the club's official Twitter account, both goals set impressive landmarks:
The Swede was in desperate need for a positive showing after several difficult weeks, and he more than delivered on Sunday. While the win and the three points are vital, the positive momentum from both Ibrahimovic and Pogba might be even more important.
Harry Kane celebrated his return to action with a goal in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal, converting from the penalty spot after Kevin Wimmer gave the Gunners the lead through an own goal.
Kane hadn't featured since suffering an injury in September, and he expressed his delight at playing again on Twitter:
Robert Snodgrass and Michael Dawson completed a comeback win for Hull City, who fell behind at Southampton after Charlie Austin converted a penalty. Matthew Phillips bagged the winner as West Bromwich Albion beat Leicester City 2-1.
