Verbal Commitment Coming Soon for Greg Rogers: Where Will the 4-Star DT Land?
November is here, and college football fans—particularly those cheering for Pac-12 schools—are eagerly anticipating the verbal commitment of Las Vegas 4-star defensive tackle Greg Rogers, who is expected to end his recruiting process in two weeks.
Rogers will make his commitment on Nov. 16, and he reconfirmed with Bleacher Report that the schools in the running are USC, UCLA, Arizona State, Colorado and Oklahoma. He's visited four of the five schools on official visits, with USC expected to get a visit toward the end of the month.
Which Pac-12 school has the inside track? Perhaps an even better question: Is the one school outside the conference a legitimate contender?
Rogers won't tell, but it is clear that he's enjoying this recruiting process. And while he's fairly close to finalizing his decision, he's using these final days to make sure he's making the best decision for himself.
"It's been good, man. I'm really blessed to experience all of this," said Rogers, the nation's No. 6-ranked defensive tackle. "All good things come to an end, though, and it's time for new beginnings."
Ranked as a Top 100 player nationally, Rogers is a 6'4", 298-pound bull who is strong enough to play inside as a 1-technique and quick enough to line up as a defensive end. He has more than 20 offers but chose his top five because of the relationships he built with the players and coaching staffs.

In eight games this year, Rogers has 46 tackles, including 14 for loss, according to MaxPreps. Entering his senior year, he had accumulated 111 tackles for his high school career, including 28 for loss.
Rogers' recruitment is believed to be a battle for the two Los Angeles schools, USC and UCLA. He took his latest official visit to UCLA last week and gave the experience very high marks.
USC was once believed to be a front-runner, but his choice now is more of a toss-up than ever. Both Los Angeles schools are in need of a defensive tackle pledge. USC has two defensive ends committed but only one defensive tackle in 3-star James Lynch. UCLA is still looking for its first defensive tackle to complement 5-star defensive end Jaelan Phillips.
And while USC and UCLA are the schools to watch, don't be surprised if Rogers goes a different route.
Colorado is having an outstanding season and is recruiting well. Oklahoma has a solid reputation of recruiting players from the West Coast. Arizona State only has two defensive players committed overall, and Rogers would be a keystone pledge on the defensive side of the ball.

USC, of Rogers' five finalists, is the only one with a defensive tackle committed. The Colorado and Oklahoma classes are offense-heavy, and Rogers can help balance out the talent level and give the programs a leader on the line.
Rogers knows wherever he goes, he's going to be called upon to contribute early—which is exactly what he wants.
And on Nov. 16, he'll let the world know where he plans on contributing.
"I'm ready to announce and see what the future has in store for me," he said.
