Real Madrid Transfer News: Marco Verratti 'Dream' Move Reported, Latest Rumours
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has reportedly "been negotiating like mad" for two years to secure a move to Real Madrid.
According to RMC journalist Frederic Hermel, the Italian midfielder is desperate for a move to Los Blancos, where Carlo Ancelotti—the man who signed him for PSG—used to be in charge.
Per Calciomercato, Hermel said: "His dream is to move to Real Madrid… I can tell you this, this information isn’t second-hand…. [Verratti wanted the move] even after Ancelotti left."

Per Tuttosport (via Calciomercato), Verratti's agent, Donato Di Campli, recently confirmed interest in the 23-year-old from Juventus, as well as Ancelotti's current club, Bayern Munich, but added that his client is happy in Paris and may not even be sold were a €100 million (£90.5 million) bid to be tabled.
Goal's Mark Doyle believes he could be the perfect fit at Juve, but the Old Lady would need to offer huge money to secure him:
Los Blancos have huge financial clout, and were they to make a move for him, the situation could seemingly be quite different, with Di Campli adding that "he can’t stay [at PSG] without winning the Champions League."
Verratti moved to the Parc des Princes from Pescara as a 19-year-old in 2012 and has since established himself as one of Europe's top young central midfielders while also winning four Ligue 1 titles.
However, he has never made it further than the quarter-finals in the UEFA Champions League, a big disappointment both for him and the club, which harbours ambitions of being one of the biggest in Europe.
Meanwhile, Real have made it to at least the semi-finals of Europe's top-tier competition in each of the last six seasons and won the tournament twice in the past three years.
The attraction of Real for Verratti is clear, and if PSG cannot guarantee that they will start to compete for Europe's biggest prize, he could well begin to agitate for a move.
He has the qualities to succeed in Real manager Zinedine Zidane's side—excellent passing range, comfortable on the ball, defensively astute—but there is an argument that they do not need to spend big money on a new central midfielder.
In Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, they have one of the best central-midfield partnerships in the world, and they are well supported by Casemiro, Mateo Kovacic, James Rodriguez and Marco Asensio.
Verratti would be an excellent purchase for the future, but as an already well-established star, he would surely not be guaranteed as much first-team football as he would want.
The young Italian may well harbour a desire to play for the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium outfit, but it is not a move that currently makes sense for any party.
