Manchester City Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Joe Hart and Moise Kean

Rob BlanchetteOct 9, 2016

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has explained why he moved to Torino on loan, revealing he felt he had no choice but to depart the Sky Blues after Pep Guardiola's arrival as manager.

John Percy of the Daily Telegraph quoted the England international speaking about his temporary switch to Serie A, citing his expected lack of minutes at City as his main reason for departing.

Hart was careful not to use Guardiola's name but declared:

"

Football is a game of opinions and some people have a great opinion of me and some people probably think I’m absolutely useless. Unfortunately for me, one of the guy's opinions in charge of my club at the time wasn’t as strong as it needed to be.

Some people you struggle to argue with—they’ve got a lot of strong backing to what they say and what they do. It’s hard to please everyone and I learnt quite early that that’s never going to happen.

I had a situation at City where my playing time was going to be limited, so I had to look elsewhere. I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t sat there with 25 options. I felt like Torino was the best option for me and it was pretty quick.

Hart's skill set made him a difficult pick for the Catalan, whose favoured tactic of possession through the defence and midfield saw him sign Claudio Bravo from Barcelona.

Bravo's technique with the ball at feet is superior to the Englishman's, and Hart was always going to struggle to win his manager's confidence despite his glittering career at the Etihad Stadium.

The England goalkeeper added he is pleased his temporary club has faith in his ability, per Percy, and further reports have suggested the loan could become permanent.

According to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Sport Witness), the Granata would “never say never” when it comes to a full switch.

In other news, City and Arsenal target Moise Kean is "prepared" to sign a deal with Juventus after the starlet's representative, Mino Raiola, agreed a professional contract with the Serie A champions.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (h/t Alex Harris of the Daily Star) reported superagent Raiola has struck a deal with Juve chief executive Beppe Marotta that will tie the promising teenager to the Old Lady for the forseeable future. Raiola spoke in glowing terms about his client, who has plundered goals in Juve's youth team.

"Kean is the name to watch in 2017, and I’m not just saying that because I’m his agent," he said, per Harris. "He is only 16 years old but has this determination within him that is just scary. He can become a big star at Juventus."

The youngster has been compared to Mario Balotelli in recent times—another Raiola client—and has impressed for Italy's under-17 side.

Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb (h/t the Manchester Evening News' James Robson, Rob Pollard and Ciaran Kelly) reported Guardiola was impressed by the Bianconeri prospect, but it seems he will stay in Italy, resisting the financial rewards on offer in England.

Juventus have an excellent record of developing players, and the recent world-record, £89 million transfer fee received for Paul Pogba will encourage them to give Kean his breakthrough at senior level.

Pogba is another client of Raiola's, and the agent's links with Juve have been solid for many seasons as a result.
