Chicago Marathon 2016: Route, Course Map, Times, Road Closures, Event Details
It's a good time to be from Chicago. The Cubs are one of the best teams in baseball and looking to end a 108-year World Series drought while hockey and the always-strong Blackhawks season is just around the bend.
On Sunday, while the Cubs travel to San Francisco for Game 3 of the NLDS, Chicagoans will lace up their running shoes and take to the streets for the Chicago Marathon, which has been run since 1977.

The course will be open for six hours and 30 minutes on Sunday and offers a chance for runners to put up some great times, per Kori Rumore and Jonathon Berlin of the Chicago Tribune:
"The Chicago Marathon has a fast, flat course that is home to four World Records, several national records and countless personal bests. There is only one slight incline in the final mile of the course on Roosevelt Road.
"
For those who finish the race and those who watch and want to take part in the festivities, there will even be an after party to celebrate those who succeeded in completing one of the most challenging athletic feats around.
