Recap
Man City were comfortable as they made it two wins from two in the Youth League.
Javairo Dilrosun converted Aaron Nemane's cross for the opener after 25 minutes and shortly after captain Rodney Kongolo made it 2-0 when the ball broke to him in the area.
Nemane got his second assist of the evening when he squared it to Isaac Buckley-Ricketts after an impressive run and the latter secured his brace in the dying minutes.
Former Sky Blues player and manager Peter Reid hailed their performance:
After matching the senior side's feat of picking up a point away at PSG in their opening game, Arsenal looked to get their first win on the board at home to Basel. The match didn't quite go as planned, however.
Despite controlling much of the ball in the early stages, the Gunners failed to convert their possession into chances and went in at half-time a goal down after Eray Cumart caught out goalkeeper Hugo Keto with a spectacular free-kick from inside his own half shortly before the break.
Arsenal captain and defensive stalwart Krystian Bielik went off injured at the interval, and his presence was undoubtedly missed by the hosts for the remainder of the game.
Nevertheless, Vlad Dragomir was able to grab an equaliser after 55 minutes, per Arsenal:
Gunners youth writer Jeorge Bird hailed the 17-year-old's performance:
The hosts looked as though they'd earned a draw until Chiori Johnson was penalised in the 93rd minute, and Neftali Manzambi dispatched the resulting spot-kick.
Both Bird and the Daily Mail's Adam Shergold believed the decision was harsh on the Arsenal youngster:
Elsewhere in Group A, PSG were rampant, as they dominated Ludogorets from start to finish.
Samuel Essende opened the scoring in the ninth minute, and he would add another to his account before the game was up, while Christopher Nkunku also bagged a brace.
Most notably, Timothy Weah netted an impressive hat-trick. As UEFA Champions League reporter Chris Burke noted, Weah is the son of PSG legend George Weah:
Moussa Diaby grabbed a late goal to round out the scoring, while Denislav Aleksandrov's strike for the hosts was merely a consolation.
Barca beat Gladbach in an entertaining match in Germany. Daniel Garcia Beltran put the visitors ahead early on, and Jeremy Guillemenot doubled their lead after 39 minutes.
Florian Schikowski pulled one back on the stroke of half-time, but the hosts were unable to grab an equaliser and eventually succumbed late on, as Jordi Mboula killed off the game in injury time.
Atletico proved their own undoing when they took on Bayern. The Germans were leading 2-0 thanks to goals from Timothy Tillman and Mario Crnicki when Pablo de Castro sparked hopes of a comeback in the 72nd minute.
However, a careless challenge from Toni Moya on Meritan Shabani saw the Spaniard receive his marching orders and put the visitors back on the front foot—Bayern capitalised, and Adrian Fein ended any lingering hopes late on.
There are still four games remaining in the group stage, but the likes of Arsenal and Atletico need to start getting wins under their belt if they're to progress.
They'll face Ludogorets and Rostov, respectively, so they each have a strong chance of doing so—they can't afford not to.
