Recap

Spurs didn't have it easy against the Black Cats on Sunday and watched as Kane and Eric Dier left the pitch with apparent injuries, with the win coming at a high cost.

The hosts were the better team but couldn't muster enough chances to put Sunderland under real pressure in the first half. They did better after the break, and Kane easily converted from close range after a defensive blunder.

As shared by WhoScored.com, Kane's traditional early-season scoring slump is well and truly over:

The win moves Spurs up to third place in the standings, but manager Mauricio Pochettino will be more concerned with the health of two of his star players. If both miss significant time, it may not have been worth it.

The Red Devils suffered their second Premier League defeat in a row, as Watford took advantage of their poor form to grab a win in the final 10 minutes. Etienne Capoue and Marcus Rashford both found the net before Juan Camilo Zuniga and Troy Deeney struck shortly before the final whistle.

Former England international Gary Lineker highlighted the visitors' dreadful form:

Manager Jose Mourinho is still looking for the best formation and best squad to use, and these early struggles were to be expected. The Red Devils put together an uninspiring effort on Sunday, however, and their lack of effort is more of an issue.

Per the club's official Twitter account, Mourinho believes it's vital to remain positive:

Charlie Austin continued his fine form by scoring the only goal in Southampton's win over Swansea, just days after his brace in the UEFA Europa League win over Sparta Prague.

The former Queens Park Rangers star struck in the 64th minute, calmly slotting home a volley from inside the box. It was the Saints' first win of the season, and, per Squawka Football, it was more than deserved:

James Tomkins, Scott Dann, James McArthur and Andros Townsend all found the net in Crystal Palace's easy win over Stoke City, who found a late consolation goal via Marko Arnautovic. The loss leaves the visitors in last place, while the Eagles keep climbing the standings.
