Tyron Woodley v. Stephen Thompson Fight Announced for UFC 205: Details, Reaction
UFC 205 gained another fight Friday, as Tyron Woodley announced on Fox Sports 1 that he and Stephen Thompson will square off for the welterweight title on Nov. 12 from Madison Square Garden:
Sherdog.com has listed the bout as the night's main event, which will be the first UFC event ever held in New York City.

Woodley is the current welterweight champion after he knocked out Robbie Lawler in the first round of UFC 201 on July 30.
The 34-year-old is 16-3 in his career and is currently on a three-match win streak dating back to August 2014.
He was quick to take to Twitter to guarantee that he'd leave the Octagon on Nov. 12 with the belt:
As the top contender, Thompson hasn't lost a fight since UFC 145 to Matt Brown in April 2012. Since then, he's won his last seven bouts to build a 13-1 record.
It was easy to see after the fight was announced that the fighter nicknamed "Wonderboy" was ready to go:
Shortly after defeating Lawler though in July, it appeared that Woodley initially wanted no part of squaring off against Thompson, via Tristen Critchfield of Sherdog.com. Instead, he wanted to go after Nick Diaz or Georges St. Pierre.
But UFC President Dana White made it clear to Matt Parrino of UFC.com in August that Thompson would be next up for Woodley.
