Dani Osvaldo Reportedly Rejected Deadline-Day Transfer to Focus on Music Career
Normally, plenty of players seek transfers on deadline day, but for former Southampton forward Dani Osvaldo, it was quite the opposite on Wednesday.
Without a club, the ex-Italy international was reportedly handed the opportunity to sign for Serie A side Chievo, only to turn down the move as he wants to pursue a career in music.
The 30-year-old told as much to Italian television station Rai Sport (h/t the Southern Daily Echo), announcing his retirement from the game. Here's a look at Osvaldo in action:

His deadline-day activity—or lack thereof—is in stark contrast to that of many of his peers.
Moussa Sissoko was desperate to leave Newcastle United on Wednesday and secured a £30 million move to Tottenham Hotspur, per Sky Sports' Mark Ashenden. Peter Odemwingie provided the highlight of the 2013 winter window when he drove to Queens Park Rangers in a failed attempt to join them from West Bromwich Albion.
Journeyman Osvaldo played for 12 different clubs over the course of his senior career, which included spells with Juventus, Inter Milan, AS Roma and FC Porto.
His contract with the Saints was terminated after a training-ground fight with Jose Fonte, and according to the Daily Echo, his deal with most recent club Boca Juniors was cancelled in May "for disciplinary reasons."
Despite being handed a way back into football and Serie A, where he spent the majority of his career, Osvaldo is evidently content to swap the pitch for the stage.
