Per Barcelona's official website, Valencia will have the option to make the deal permanent for €12 million, while the two clubs have also settled on an unspecified sell-on clause if Los Che move him on later in his career.
Spanish football expert Sergi Dominguez believes Barcelona should have made it more expensive for Valencia to make his move permanent:
Football journalist Rafael Hernandez rued the implication of the move:
Indeed, with Paco Alcacer heading the other way on a permanent transfer, per Barcelona's official website, it seems the club are favouring external recruitment where in the past they would have looked to the likes of Munir as an academy graduate.
Grup 14's Diana Kristinne gave her take on the deal:
Munir made 26 appearances last season—a number of which were from the bench—as a back-up to Barca's front three.
During that time, he racked up eight goals and seven assists, largely playing on the right but also on the left and in the centre.
Here are some of his highlights:
The Spaniard should enjoy a far more prominent role this season having been given Alcacer's No. 9 shirt, and he will need to try and replace the striker's goal output.
He enjoyed an excellent pre-season with Barca and scored against Sevilla in the Supercopa, so there's a good chance he can hit the ground running at the Mestalla Stadium.
Valencia had a difficult campaign last year, and their summer hasn't been much better with Barcelona snapping up Alcacer and Andre Gomes, while Shkodran Mustafi is nearing a move to Arsenal, per the MailOnline's Phil Costa.
It's not an ideal environment for Munir to be coming into, but if he can get off to a strong start, he could really lift the atmosphere around the club.
