Liverpool Transfer News: Mamadou Sakho Told to Leave on Loan, Latest Rumours
Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has reportedly been told to leave the club on a season-long loan deal if he's to have any chance of "saving" his Anfield career under manager Jurgen Klopp.
According to James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo on Tuesday, Klopp has told the centre-back he "does have a future at Liverpool," but he needs to revive his career elsewhere before he gets another chance under the German.

Dejan Lovren, Ragnar Klavan and Joel Matip have all featured in front of Sakho this season, and the France international is at risk of sitting out the campaign unless he finds a temporary destination.
Pearce even went so far as to outline Sakho "won't play" unless he does move on, so convinced is Klopp that the player needs to prove he's fit to feature at the top level:
The central defender has already rejected temporary moves to Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion this summer, but Klopp still wants to find a new home for the player this term.
Merseyside football writer Richard Buxton further outlined the hierarchy that is blocking fan-favourite Sakho from taking his spot in the Liverpool XI this season:
Sakho saw his 2015-16 campaign come to an abrupt end in April after he was suspended by UEFA following a failed drug test. He also missed Euro 2016 before being cleared of any wrongdoing in the matter.
The Telegraph's Chris Bascombe detailed it was Sakho who rejected the opportunity to move to the Bet365 Stadium on a temporary deal this season, and now just a day remains in the summer window:
It means the Reds are under immense pressure to find a suitable home for their player, who may well wish to remain at Anfield, under the impression he's good enough to reclaim his place in the XI.
Pearce also highlighted that central midfielder Lucas Leiva and recovering Joe Gomez remain ahead of Sakho in the centre-back pecking order, evidence of just how sorely Klopp wishes to farm the 26-year-old out.
Sakho was reportedly expecting "bigger clubs" to raise interest in his services if he were to leave the club on loan, but just a day now remains for the France international to jump ship or risk being left behind at Anfield.
