Little League World Series 2016: Latest Schedule, TV Info and Bracket Prediction
Half of the finalists are set for the two bracket championships in the Little League World Series at Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
The other half will be set Thursday in a doubleheader at the Little League baseball shrine.
On the international side, Latin America representative Panama rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat powerful South Korea, 3-2. The Asia-Pacific representative had things going in a positive direction until 11-year-old Esmith Pineda belted a three-run home run with two outs in the fifth inning.
That shot, which was estimated at nearly 300 feet by the ESPN broadcast crew, turned defeat into victory for Panama.
The Latin American team is undefeated in its run through the international bracket, and it will play Saturday in the international final against the winner of Thursday's matchup between South Korea and Mexico. The Monterrey-based team rolled to a 10-0, four-inning win over Australia on Wednesday.
Jose Angel Leal was dominant on the mound for Mexico, as he gave up just one hit and struck out 10 of the Sydney Little Leaguers in 3.2 innings. Victor Juarez led the Mexico attack, as he belted a home run and had a single.

On the American side, Goodlettsville, Tennessee, rolled to a 14-3 victory over Johnston, Iowa. The Southeast representative rolled up five extra-base hits, including a home run by Ethan Jackson. Once Goodlettsville got its attack rolling, the Midwest representative was unable to slow it down.
The Southeast representative will play Great Lakes representative Bowling Green, Kentucky, which dropped a 13-10 decision to Endwell, New York, Wednesday night. Endwell earned a spot in Saturday's U.S. bracket final.
The game between Bowling Green and Endwell was a back-and-forth contest, but the Mid-Atlantic representatives scored three runs with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning to seize control.
Jude Abbadessa went 5-for-5 and drove in six runs to lead the Endwell attack.
Great Lakes will try to bounce back Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET in a game that will be televised on ESPN. Devin Obee and Spencer Newman each had two hits for Great Lakes in the loss to the Mid-Atlantic representatives.
