Olympic 2016 Medal Count: Nation Rankings and Latest Standings on Saturday
China's Chen Long avenged his semi-final loss against Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei from four years ago, winning the gold in badminton during Saturday's 2016 Summer Olympics action.
The 27-year-old needed just two games to beat his rival, who won his third consecutive silver medal in the event.
Gwen Jorgensen of the United States won the women's triathlon, finishing ahead of defending champion Nicola Spirig of Switzerland. More medals will be available on Saturday in a host of sports, including basketball and boxing.
Here's a look at the current medal standings:
Recap

Long had vengeance on his mind after his semi-final loss against Chong Wei four years ago, and the two-time world champion showed just how far he has come. He beat Chong Wei in two games, by the score of 21-18, 21-18.
The Chinese star has been the dominant force in badminton over the last two years, and the 2016 Olympics backed that up. While Chong Wei earned the top seed for his fine play in the group stages, Long rarely showed any signs of weakness.

Chong Wei had to qualify for the final the hard way, meeting two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan in the semi-finals, and he showed some signs of fatigue in the rallies on Saturday. But even at his best, he would have struggled getting past an in-form Long, who reinforced his position as the top badminton player in the world.
Malaysian YouTube personality Jin Lim was still proud of his compatriot:
Dan couldn't add a bronze medal to his impressive collection, as he was beaten by Denmark's Viktor Axelsen in the bronze medal match. Similar to the final, Dan seemed physically drained from his marathon match with Chong Wei, although his 22-year-old opponent played some fantastic badminton and more than deserved the win.
Per the South China Morning Post, Axelsen couldn't believe he beat his childhood hero:
"No, I would have thought that maybe he would have retired before I reached this level.
But I’m really, really happy that I managed to do this. I’ve been watching Lin since I was a little kid.
This is so special for me and it’s really hard to describe in words how I feel.
"
In the women's triathlon, Jorgensen lived up to her reputation as grand favourite, as she more than held her own in the swimming and cycling stages. Jorgensen closed a small gap to Spirig on foot before finishing the job.
Great Britain's Vicky Holland added a bronze medal to her nation's tally, winning the sprint against Non Stanford.
