Olympic 2016 Results: Live Saturday Medal Count and Standings Updates
As the 2016 Rio Olympic Games wind down, Team USA has a commanding lead in the medal count.
On the track, the American women dominated from Lane 1 on the way to gold in the 4x100-meter relay. The men, meanwhile, lost out on a bronze by being disqualified for handing off on an illegal stretch of the track.
In the same race, the Jamaicans won gold on the strength of Usain Bolt's anchor leg. The win made Bolt a perfect 9-of-9 in Olympic finals.

Gold for the U.S. Women

After securing a spot in the 4x100-meter final with a re-run on an empty track, the women of Team USA cruised past the live competition on Friday.
Anchored by Tori Bowie, a team that included Allyson Felix, English Gardner and Tianna Bartoletta ran a nearly flawless race on the inside lane.
Second-place Jamaica failed to offer much of a challenge down the stretch, as seen in race footage provided by NBC Sports:
"I had the easiest job of all,” Bowie told NBC’s Lewis Johnson, per NBC's Seth Rubinroit. “My teammates brought me the stick, and all I had to do was bring it to the finish line."
Triple-Triple for Bolt

If this is the last Olympic Games for Bolt, he went out in a fashion typical to him: spectacular.
When he grabbed the baton for the final leg of the 4x100, Bolt was neck and neck with runners from Japan and USA. Just a few seconds later, there was no question that Jamaica would get the gold.
Even after all these years, Bolt's ability to separate is staggering. Thanks to video of the race from NBC Sports, you can see for yourself:
As Bolt pulled away from the competition, his nation lost it. Twitter user Lioness Prudie Hall shared video of Jamaicans at home on the island reacting to the win:

Though Bolt has repeatedly said this is his last Olympics, his dominance in Rio makes a return in 2020 seem possible.
Surely, even at 33, Bolt could secure at least one more win to pass Carl Lewis for the most track-and-field golds in Olympic history.
