Bronze-Medal Matches
Men's
Oussama Oueslati of Tunisia made easy work of the United States' Steven Lopez in a 14-5 result.
Lopez didn't make a comeback easy for himself either as he gifted six points to Oueslati due to Kyong-Go warning penalties.
Ouslati was able to record a three-point kick to Lopez's head in each of the three rounds and added one basic kick in the first round.
The second bronze-medal match was even more lopsided as Milad Beigi Harchegani's dominance forced the match to end early in the third round by building a 12-point gap over Poland's Piotr Pazinski.
Any match in which one fighter builds that large a gap will be ended due to superiority.
On the night, Harchegani recorded a trio of three-point head kicks and defensive kicks, respectively, as Pazinski's defense was no match for his aggressive play.
Women's
The Ivory Coast's Ruth Marie Christelle Gbagbi used the two opening rounds of her bronze-medal match to build an insurmountable lead over Azerbaijan's Farida Azizova in a 7-1 lead.
She landed a pair of offensive kicks to the head for three points apiece in the first and second round, respectively, while adding a kick to Azizova's chest protector for an additional point in the second.
In the second match, Nur Tatar had just two minutes to save her bronze after going down 3-0 after the opening four minutes.
But in the third and final round, the Turkish woman unleashed an attack that saw her land a defensive and offensive kick to the head, good for six points and a basic kick for another to pull out a 7-3 victory.
Gold-Medal Matches
Men's
Great Britain's Lutalo Muhammad looked as though he was destined for gold after two points in the third round gave him a 6-4 lead in the final seconds. But the Ivory Coast's Cheick Sallah Junior recorded four points in the dying moments to win gold.
He had to battle back the entire match after falling back 4-0 in the second round. He reeled off four points in the same round to tie the game before the dramatic third round.
Women's
France's Haby Niare looked to be in good shape early in the second round after taking a 4-0 lead, but like the rest of the Taekwondo world, she was astounded by the attack that South Korea's Hyeri Oh put on display.
In the final minute of the second round, Oh recorded 10 points with three different kinds of three-point kicks and a Kyong-Go from Niare after she fell.
Niare came roaring back in the final round with her back against the wall. She recorded eight points, four of them coming in the form of Kyong-Go warning penalties by Oh in the final two minutes. But the South Korean was able to record three points to eek out a 13-12 win.
