Medal Count 2016 Olympics: Thursday Results, Standings and Latest Reaction
Usain Bolt will look to complete a historic third double-double during Thursday's 2016 Summer Olympics action, as he'll compete in the final of the men's 200 metres sprint with an eye on a third consecutive gold medal in the event.
The Jamaican star has already become the first man to win three consecutive gold medals in the 100 metres sprint during these Games, but the 29-year-old came to Rio de Janeiro to win both events, and the job is only half done.
Elsewhere, Belgium and Argentina will go head-to-head in the men's field hockey final, and the Brazilian duo of Alison and Bruno will play a home match for gold in beach volleyball. Here's a look at the current medal standings:
Preview
At this stage of the Olympics, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone willing to bet against Bolt grabbing yet another gold on Thursday. The Jamaican star once again showed off his dominance in the 100 metres final, completing a fantastic comeback to beat rival Justin Gatlin, and all in all, he barely seemed to break a sweat.
Bolt has always preferred the 200 metres, which is his best distance, and he won't even have to worry about Gatlin or Ameer Webb, who entered the Olympics with a better time in the event this year than Bolt. Neither made the final, and Bolt said all of the sprinters were shocked to find out, per Bleacher Report UK:
The world-record holder has been as calm and relaxed as ever throughout the Games, joking and laughing with his competitors on his way to win after win. He and Canada's Andre De Grasse combined for one of the best photos of these Olympics during the heats, per ESPN:
De Grasse pushed Bolt quite close in the heats, but Bolt didn't even seem to try in the last 30 metres―the Jamaican always seems to shift gears in finals, and barring injury, he'll most likely sprint to yet another gold medal.
Other athletics medal events will include the men's heptathlon, where Ashton Eaton is on pace for the gold, and the women's 400 metres hurdles, where Dalilah Muhammad is the favourite.

The favourites for the men's field hockey gold will be going head-to-head for the bronze, as Germany and the Netherlands were both shockingly eliminated in the semi-finals by Argentina and Belgium, respectively.
Sports writer Ayaz Memon was as shocked as anyone:
"Men's hockey gone topsy-turvy. Aus knocked out, Germany & Holland to vie for bronze, final Argentina v Belgium.Who would've thot?! #Rio2016

The Argentinians have been in fine form all tournament long and crushed Germany 5-2, while Belgium's defence has been a remarkably cohesive unit that paved the way for a 3-1 win over their neighbours from the Netherlands.
Argentina have big-tournament experience on their side, with a bronze medal at the 2014 World Championships to show for it, but Belgium's athleticism and ability on the counter-attack is unmatched.
