Shaun White Facing New Allegations in Sexual Harassment Lawsuit
New details about the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against two-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White in May were released Tuesday.
TMZ Sports reported Lena Zawaideh, who's suing White for allegedly harassing her over a number of years, said in court documents he sent her "sexually explicit and graphic images" and made her watch "sexually disturbing videos" during their time together in the band Bad Things.
Zawaideh alleged she has text messages that showcase the 29-year-old snowboarder's "darker, misogynistic personality." Along with the damages for sexual harassment, she's suing for work she did with the band that she wasn't paid for, according to the report.
TMZ Sports provided her statement on the matter: "I am pursuing this case because women should not have to tolerate harassment at work. Shaun White should not be allowed to do whatever he wants just because he is famous. Although I am embarrassed to have been treated this way, I cannot sit by and watch him do this to other women."
White has yet to comment on the situation. TMZ Sports contacted White's representatives following the release of the latest details and has not heard back.
The California native, who's also won medals in skateboarding at the X Games, confirmed in February he's planning to participate at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, per Access Hollywood.
"Of course," White said. "Oh yeah. 2018. That's the plan."
He added: "Nothing's more motivating than a loss."
White stood atop the snowboarding halfpipe podium in both 2006 and 2010. He finished fourth in 2014, however, which raised questions about his Olympic future.
No further information about a timetable for the harassment lawsuit was immediately released.
