Olympic 2016 Results: How to View Saturday's Live Medal Tally Updates

David McCrackenAug 13, 2016

Saturday's 2016 Rio Olympic Games events feature a toss-up tennis final in women's singles, where both Monica Puig and Angelique Kerber have a chance to make history, while Michael Phelps turns the last page on his historic Olympic career in his last event: the 4x100-meter medley.

Day 8 of the Rio Olympic Games will be the last time fans will have a chance to watch Phelps in the swimming pool. While it was rumored that Phelps would be back for the Olympics in 2020, according to teammate Ryan Lochte, Phelps set the record straight by winning silver in the 100-meter breaststroke on Day 7 after losing to Singapore’s Joseph Schooling.

"I'm not competing in four years," Phelps told ESPN on Friday when asked about Lochte's comments on the Tokyo Games.

"I'll clarify: Ryan [Lochte] doesn't know what he's talking about," Phelps said. "I'm not coming back in 2020. I saw that today and I thought, 'Oh, thanks Ryan! Throwing me out there for another four years.' If he wants to come back for another four years, it will be fun to watch."

If Phelps retires after these Games, he will leave the sport as the most decorated swimmer of all time and the most decorated Olympian in the history of the Games.

After winning his 22nd gold medal on Day 6 in the 200-meter individual medley, Phelps broke Leonidas of Rhodes' 2,168-year-old record with his 13th individual gold medal.

Phelps' final Olympic race can be seen on live stream on NBCOlympics.com or on NBC.

When: Saturday, August 13, at 10:04 p.m ET.

Phelps' performance in these Games have helped the United States lead all countries in total medals, which can be seen below:

Another sport to keep an eye on is tennis, where the final in the women's singles will decide who will take home the gold after American favorite Serena Williams' stunning loss in the third round of the Games.

There is one American left in the medal race, however, as Madison Keys is in contention for the bronze medal against Petra Kvitova from the Czech Republic.

In the gold-medal match, Monica Puig of Puerto Rico will go up against Germany's Angelique Kerber.

Puig, 22, is now assured to become Puerto Rico's first female medalist in any Olympic sport and also has a chance to claim her country’s first-ever gold medal.

“For me it would mean the world,” Puig said to USA Today. “It would be unbelievable and the biggest honor in the world. I’m doing it more for my country. This Olympics isn’t about me it’s about Puerto Rico and I know how bad they want this. This isn’t for me this is for them.”

Puig and Kerber will go head-to-head Saturday, and that match can be seen on live stream at NBCOlympics.com.

When: Saturday, August 13, at 3 p.m. ET.
