Mid-Atlantic Region

Delaware (Milton Little League) used a late rally to stun Maryland (Hughesville Little League Baseball and Softball) with a nail-biting 5-2 victory in extra innings.

Maryland grabbed a 2-1 lead after the first inning courtesy of Blake Pesante and Alex Borges, who each drove in a run. Those were the last runs to cross the plate until the sixth.

The thin line between a potential trip to the LLWS and going home was on full display late. Delaware was within one out of elimination before a clutch single by Timothy Hitchcock to bring home Brian Sponaugle leveled the score and forced extras.

Delaware added three more in the seventh as Tyler Husbands crushed a home run to right. Maryland tried to complete a comeback of its own as it loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning, but Hunter Rauch closed the door with a strikeout to secure the win.

Bringing Chase Boyle on to pitch in the second was the turning point for Delaware. He tossed five shutout innings with 10 strikeouts to keep the team in the game long enough to finally get the runs it needed after getting shut down for most of the contest.

Delaware advances to face the winner of Tuesday's second game on Thursday. Maryland, which came within a single out of advancing, is eliminated from title contention.

Pennsylvania (Keystone Little League) survived a high-profile matchup with New Jersey (Freehold Township Little League) by the score of 5-1.

Cayde McCloskey and Brady Bendik both hit the ball out of the yard as part of an offensive effort that seen seven different players get a hit. Kaden Falls was the key to the win, though. He pitched four innings of scoreless relief with eight strikeouts to keep New Jersey at bay.

John Abrahamsen, Jonathan Olik and Drew Montgomery picked up the only hits for New Jersey. While the team was within striking distance in both of its losses, the inability to get those shutdown innings on the mound caused it to fall short of the ultimate goal.

Meanwhile, Pennsylvania moves on to face Delaware for a spot in the semifinals.

Great Lakes Region

Ohio (Westside Little League) fell behind 3-0 after the first inning before exploding for 13 runs in the second en route to a 19-3 triumph over Illinois (Streator Little League).

Brady Imhoff led the offensive charge as he got hits in all three at-bats, including a pair of home runs during the second-inning outburst. Cayden Evans and Curtus Moak also homered for Ohio, which finished the contest with more hits (15) than outs (12).

Sean McGurk and Nolan Barr drove in the runs for Illinois. The pitching staff just couldn't contain the powerful Ohio lineup in order to keep the game close, though.

Ohio moves on to face the winner of the clash between Michigan and Indiana on Thursday. Illinois, which suffered a late loss to Wisconsin in its opener, is now eliminated from the regional.

Michigan (Essexville Hampton Little League) exploded for 10 runs in the second inning en route to a comfortable 15-2 win against Indiana (Terre Haute North Little League).

Jack Mularz hit two home runs, including a grand slam, and recorded seven RBI. The grand slam came in the first inning to give Michigan a 5-0 lead, and a three-run homer by Mularz in the second inning put Michigan ahead by double digits, 11-1.

Blaise Millar, meanwhile, was a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs scored, and Micah Irrer got two hits and two RBI from the leadoff spot.

Northwest Region

A quick turnaround after losing Monday night didn't prevent Oregon (Bend North Little League) from taking another step toward the LLWS with a 6-2 victory over Alaska (Abbott O Rabbit Little League).

Oregon started each of the first two innings with home runs. Julian Mora started the game with a bang, hitting the first pitch over the right-field wall. Sam Renner followed suit leading off the second inning to give his team a lead it wouldn't relinquish.

A lot of credit goes to the Oregon bullpen. Isaiah Jensen, Chase Terry and Zack Reynolds relieved Caleb Carpenter and pitched 3.1 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts to lock down an Alaska offense that put up two runs in the first frame.

Curtis Hebert and Ryan Watson registered the only hits for Alaska. Andrew Buckendorf pitched three scoreless frames of relief, but the hitters couldn't take advantage of the time to mount a comeback, which ends its championship hopes.

Oregon will be right back in action Wednesday against the winner of Wyoming and Montana. The latter has racked up 19 runs in two games so far, which could make for a tough matchup.

New England Region

New Hampshire (Bedford Little League) used a well-rounded offensive attack to stay alive after a loss to Massachusetts on Monday with a lopsided victory over neighboring Vermont (Brattleboro Little League).

After falling behind in the first, New Hampshire started crushing the ball in the second to the tune of 10 runs over the next three innings to pull away. Leadoff hitter TJ O'Connell provided the game-changing moment in the second with a two-run homer.

Zinabu McNeice and Caden Wood both homered for Vermont in a losing effort. The team actually didn't play poorly during its time in Bristol, Connecticut, but a couple untimely errors were the difference as the squad suffers an early exit.

New Hampshire will attempt to keep walking the one-less tightrope toward the final as it returns to action Thursday for another must-win contest.

Maine (Scarborough Little League) couldn't capitalize on its opportunities and suffered an 8-2 defeat to Connecticut (Fairfield American Little League).

Maine shot itself in the foot on multiple occasions, whether it came to stranding baserunners (six men left on base) or defensive miscues (five errors). Particularly with regard to the errors, it's difficult to make that many mistakes and still win against tough opposition.

Matt Longo, Michael Iannazzo and Matthew Sawyer all toed the rubber for Connecticut. Longo started and went 2.2 innings, with Iannazzo coming on in relief and going 2.1 innings before Sawyer got the final two outs. Together, they struck out nine batters and allowed two free passes.

Midwest Region

Kansas (Frontenac Youth Little League) bounced back from a shutout loss to Nebraska with a terrific offensive display in a critical 15-7 win over South Dakota (Canyon Lake Little League).

The most impressive aspect of Kansas' high run total is the fact it lit up the scoreboard without the benefit of a home run. The entire team was able to make consistent contact and the ball either found holes or were misplayed by South Dakota, leading to a couple big innings.

Cruz Blair led the way with three hits. Jeremy Raio, Alex Evans and Logan Myers each added two for a team that's sandwiched a pair of double-digit run efforts around the aforementioned shutout defeat.

Benjamin Goldy had a memorable day at the plate for South Dakota despite the loss, racking up four hits in as many at-bats. His teammates couldn't provide him with quite enough support, however, as the side finish with 10 hits as a whole.

While Kansas can't afford another loss, it can't be counted out from title contention, either. It's a team with a lot of high-contact players and that should pay off moving forward if it can catch at least a couple breaks along the way.

Minnesota (Coon Rapids Andover American Little League) scored early and often in a 9-2 win over Missouri (Webb City Little League).

Kyle Law homered to lead off the game, and while Missouri tied the game in the bottom of the first, Minnesota responded with three runs apiece in the second and third innings. Two more runs came home in the fourth on an error by Cooper Crouch, which provided more than enough late insurance.

Logan Myers and Noah Fournier were both excellent on the mound. They combined to allow three hits, and both of the runs Myers allowed were unearned.

Law was one of the standout performers offensively. He finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Andrew Schumacher chipped in with three hits from the No. 2 spot and drove him three runs of his own.

West Region

Nevada (Mountain Ridge Little League) had to fight harder than the 15-4 final score would suggest in order to knock of Arizona (Cactus Foothills South Little League).

The lead was just four heading into the top of the fifth before Nevada hung a seven on the board to put the game out of reach. It was a complete team effort as 10 of the 12 players who received an at-bat in the game got at least one hit, including five players with two knocks.

In addition, Garrett Cutting and Dominic Perez both hit home runs for Nevada in the win as the team scored at least one run in every inning.

JT Wheeling had a homer for Arizona, which had a strong offensive showing despite losing two straight games to get knocked off. The pitching couldn't keep pace with the offense, though.

Looking ahead, Nevada proved Tuesday that its hitters have enough pop to make some noise, but its pitchers must take it up a notch in the coming days to earn a LLWS trip.

Late-inning heroics delivered Utah (Snow Canyon Little League) a huge win over Northern California (Vacaville Central Little League).

With two outs, Logan Mendenhall singled to left field and tied the game at 6-6. Luke Iverson stepped to the plate next, and with a single to center, he brought Mendenhall home to pull out the comeback victory.

It was a fitting conclusion to the game since Mendenhall and Iverson accounted for so much of Utah's offensive output. They had nearly identical stat lines, with each going 3-for-4 with three runs batted in. The three runs scored by Mendenhall were the only difference between the two.

Cam Terry pitched a complete game for Utah. He allowed six runs, but only two were earned as his defense committed three errors. He struck out seven batters and walked one, illustrating that he had lights-out stuff Tuesday night when he hit his spots.

Southeast Region

Georgia (Peachtree City American Little League) punched its tickets to the Southeast championship game with a dominant 13-3 triumph over West Virginia (Bridgeport Little League).

As has been the case elsewhere around the country throughout Tuesday, one big inning was the difference for Georgia. It tallied eight runs in the third, highlighted by a two-run homer courtesy of Isaiah Lopez, to pull away from a gamely West Virginia group.

JT Muller had a strong day at the plate for the West Virginians with a homer and a double in three at-bats. He also accounted for all three RBI for the losing side.

Georgia must get prepared for a rematch with Tennessee in the title game. The undefeated squad from the Volunteer State handed the Georgians their only loss of the tournament last Saturday by a 6-3 score thanks to a three-run bottom of the fifth.

Now Georgia must flip the script in order to earn a spot in Williamsport.

Canada Region

Ontario (Port Arthur National Little League) improved to 2-3 with another strong showing at the plate to ease past Saskatchewan (Moose Jaw Little League), which drops to 1-5.

All of Ontario's damage came in the first two innings as it tallied six in the first and four in the second to quickly put the game on ice. Kohl Johnson drove in three runs and scored two, but the team as a whole finished with just four hits. Five errors by Saskatchewan were the difference.

Evan McCubbing was strong in relief despite the loss. He racked up eight strikeouts over three scoreless innings. Hunter Stewart and Cole Breitkreuz each had two hits for Saskatchewan.

The defeat marks the end of the tournament for Saskatchewan. Meanwhile, Ontario can still try to play the role of spoiler in its final game of round-robin play Wednesday when it takes on British Columbia, which is still in championship contention.

Five-run innings bookended a 12-2 win for Quebec (Diamond Baseball Academy Little League) against Alberta (Southwest Little League) on Tuesday.

Benjamin Cloutier and Stefano Paolucci homered in the first inning to give Quebec a 5-1 lead, and with the game well in hand in the fourth, Louka Daoust delivered a three-run homer before an RBI double by Antoine Proulx necessitated the 10-run rule.

It was a day to forget for Sam Hilgersom, who lasted just 0.1 innings before taking over at catcher. He allowed four earned runs, two hits and two walks in his brief time on the mound.

Alex Blais was credited with the win. He entered the game with runners on first and second and immediately surrendered an RBI double to Teigen Parenteau before settling down and getting out of the inning. That was critical toward limiting the damage down by Alberta early in the game.

An 11-run first inning propelled British Columbia (Whalley Little League) to a dominant win Tuesday over Atlantic (Sydney Sooners Little League).

Mason Chien, Noah Cassie, Brandon Chiasson and Haiden Letzing all homered in the victory. Chiasson and Letzing each drove home four runs, while Chiasson led the team with four hits. Cassie was one of two British Columbia players with three hits, joining Colton Frick.

Atlantic could only muster one hit in the defeat. The trio of Letzing, Cassie and Carter Spencer combined for eight strikeouts and zero walks. British Columbia didn't need a great performance from its starting pitchers with such a massive output from its lineup, but Letzing, Cassie and Spencer delivered it anyway.

Southwest Region

A late comeback wasn't enough for Louisiana (South Lake Charles Little League) to get past Texas West (McAllister Park American Little League), who won 8-4.

A double by Donovan LaSalle got Louisiana on the board in the bottom of the sixth, and a fielder's choice by Jake LaRocca brought home a third run. With two outs, Ashton Fuselier doubled to keep his team alive and trim the deficit to four runs. But Blake Moss struck out to end the game.

It looked like Britton Moore was running out of gas, but his coach stuck with him and the left-hander pitched a complete game. Moore had been excellent until the sixth. He finished with seven strikeouts and allowed six hits and one walk.

Dominic Tellis provided some pop for Texas West out of the leadoff spot, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Rilan Quinones and LJ Brown each drove in two runs.
