2016 Olympic Results: How to View Live Updates for Sunday Medal Tally
The Olympics will reach a full-speed level Sunday as top American and international stars put their talents on display across multiple venues in Rio de Janeiro.
After the American men got started with an easy and expected victory in men's basketball Saturday, the American women will try to do the same Sunday.
They open their Olympic schedule with a game against Senegal, and they figure to have their way against Senegal, as there is no one on the Senegalese team who can hold down Elena Delle Donne, Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi.
The American women have won five straight Olympic gold medals, and this tournament figures to be the sixth gold medal in a row.
While Senegal does not figure to be a test for the United States, the game will give the talented Americans a chance to show off their talent and stretch their legs under the bright lights of the Olympics. Their first game could set the tone for a memorable run in Rio.
Sunday should be quite a day for the American women. In addition to the basketball team, the women's gymnastics team will make its first appearance in Rio.

This appears to be a dominant team that is likely to win the gold medal, just like the Fierce Five did four years ago in London.
If anything, this team may be stronger than the 2012 team. Simone Biles appears to have the talent, skill and inspiration to win the gold medal in the individual all-around event. She is joined by holdovers Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas, and newcomers Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocian.
Biles has not lost an all-around competition in three years, and she is fully capable of winning five gold medals.
The first test for the team is qualifying for the team and individual finals. That means putting on a strong show in qualifying, and that is certainly something this group is capable of doing.
"Our team is really strong, and I think we're going to go out there and dominate," Hernandez told Jill Martin of CNN.
Other key events that are scheduled to take place Sunday include men's boxing preliminaries, fencing and weightlifting, along with women's rugby and diving.
