Jose Mourinho Accused of Bullying Bastian Schweinsteiger by FifPro Member
Slovenian FifPro member Dejan Stefanovic believes Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho should be jailed for his treatment of veteran midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, saying the former Chelsea boss is "bullying" the German.
As reported by BBC Sport, the 32-year-old has been relegated to the Under-23 team and has been forced to train on his own since the arrival of Mourinho, something Stefanovic finds unacceptable:
"It's clear bullying.
In Slovenia, we would have indicted Mourinho and asked for the highest penalty - three years in prison.
This is clearly meant to discourage Bastian.
Mourinho is setting a bad example. I would take it to the ordinary court. In our case, the penal code is quite clear. If there is bullying and harassment, there's a prison sanction, a maximum of three years in prison.
Schweinsteiger should turn to the Professional Footballers' Association and he should file a complaint and I would also seek penalty for Mourinho.

Per the report, Schweinsteiger was kept out of the squad for the friendly win over Galatasaray and the testimonial match for Wayne Rooney against Everton. United have yet to comment on the matter, and Mourinho will likely be asked about his decision not to feature Schweinsteiger during his pre-match presser for Sunday's Community Shield against Leicester City.
In anticipation of his explanation, the decision to demote the World Cup winner has been a controversial one. Per BBC Sport, Bayern Munich president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Bild he believes players will think twice about moving to Manchester from now on, and Schweinsteiger's brother also chimed in:
Schweinsteiger appeared in 31 matches during his first season at Old Trafford but struggled with injuries and his form, failing to make the desired impact. He was one of former manager Louis van Gaal's top signings, but new boss Mourinho is understandably determined to make the squad his own.
A summer transfer seems likely for the German, but finding a suitable club to do business with could prove tricky. According to Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News, Schweinsteiger is making £200,000 per week, and few clubs will be willing to pay him wages anything close to that number.
