Manchester United Transfer News: Latest on Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo Rumours
Manchester United are reportedly waiting to see if Hull City maintain their interest in Phil Jones following manager Steve Bruce's resignation, while Marcos Rojo has turned down the opportunity to move to China.
According to Duncan Castles' report in the Daily Record, former United player Bruce was hoping to lure Jones to the KC Stadium on a season-long loan deal prior to leaving Hull and the Red Devils now need to find out if the Tigers will still pursue him.
Meanwhile, Castles reports that former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson made an offer for Rojo to join him at Shanghai SIPG, but the Argentinian is not interested in a move to the Chinese Super League.

The defender has been put up for sale by Jose Mourinho, who is hoping to strengthen his defensive options by clearing out those who do not appear to feature in his plans before bringing in more recruits.

Rojo arrived two seasons ago and played in the centre and on the left under Mourinho's predecessor Louis van Gaal.
Per WhoScored.com, the Red Devils have been more successful with him on the pitch than not:
However, such a stat comes as a surprise—Rojo has hardly inspired confidence during his time at Old Trafford and is yet to convince defensively.
ESPN's Alex Shaw isn't an admirer:
Nor is he of Jones, who has become unreliable in recent seasons due to injury. He and the Mirror's Adrian Kajumba believe the time has come for the Englishman to leave Old Trafford:
Indeed, when Jones arrived as a 19-year-old from Blackburn Rovers in 2011, he was one of the most exciting prospects in English football and his versatility allows him to play at centre-back, right-back or as a holding midfielder.
However, he has struggled for form and fitness, and largely failed to progress—now 24, there are serious doubts as to whether he can make it at United.
Football writer Liam Canning would move on both players:
"I’d personally sell Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones straightaway. Keep Mata - seems in better spirits. Defence definitely needs another addition.

Neither has shown enough to warrant a place in Mourinho's squad for the forthcoming season, so United would do well to replace them with more reliable players if they can.
A loan move could give Jones the chance to prove he can stay fit and regain some form in an attempt to salvage his United career, but an offer from Hull seems unlikely until they appoint a new manager.
Should the Tigers' new boss be similarly interested in acquiring him, there may yet be hope of a deal being struck.
