The league has filed a lawsuit against the state of Delaware after the state had made plans to offer single-game sports betting.
Why would the NFL do this, to protect the “integrity” of the game of course.

However, the NFL has two teams whose owners already actively advocate betting on the NFL. The Glazer family, owner of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Randy Lerner of the Cleveland Browns, both consider bookmaking firms as their “betting partners”.
Besides just having teams that do business with bookmaking firms, one of the NFL’s main broadcasting partners, FOX, is owned by News Corp. News Corp has a 39% ownership of Skybet, an online bookmaking firm that offers a full display of NFL betting action.
Delaware was thrilled about their opportunity to offer single-game betting at the start of the season after the state legislator passed by the bill, the governor signed it, and the state Supreme Court approved it. The state spent millions of dollars that were invested by adding sports books to three race tracks.
The NFL quickly moved in and led a lawsuit in a federal appeals court, and to the disappointment of Delaware and legal observers, stopped the plan only days before it started.
So, now who’s throwing rocks in their glass house?
