Players to Watch
Tyus Jones

Tyus Jones is still clutch.
On Saturday, the former Duke point guard iced an 81-79 win over the Toronto Raptors by drawing a shooting foul in the corner and calmly knocking down both free throws with less than half a second left.
Jones finished with 21 points, eight assists, three rebounds and three steals while shooting 5-of-12 from the field.
After starring at Duke two years ago, Jones had a quiet rookie campaign for the Wolves. He’s using the summer tournament to show how much he’s improved, as he told John Meyer of Canis Hoopus.
“As a second-year roster guy, and the point guard, I feel a responsibility to lead this summer-league team and to show my improvements as a leader and my game overall,” Jones said.
It’s easy to forget about Jones on a team that boasts an inordinate amount of young talent. But he’s worth stashing in the back of your mind.
Remember what he did in the NCAA tournament championship game?
Winning the summer league is nothing compared to a national championship, but it’s a good opportunity to show coaches he’s deserving of a larger role in 2016-17.
Jordan McRae

Less than a month ago, Jordan McRae was playing in the NBA Finals.
Now, he's killing it in the summer league.
The Cavaliers guard saw few minutes against the Golden State Warriors, but he’s proving his value to many with a big-time showing this July.
Per Terry Pluto of the Plain Dealer, some scouts are comparing McRae to fellow volume scorer Jamal Crawford. That’s high praise for a player who’s faced rejection more than a handful of times in his career. In 2016 alone, McRae signed two 10-day contracts, got sent to the NBA Development League three times and signed a deal with Cleveland.
McRae put up 4.1 points per game with the Cavaliers, but his numbers were better per 36 minutes: 19.8 points on 44.2 percent shooting.

In six games with the Cavaliers' summer-league squad, McRae has averaged 25.7 points—third-most in the Las Vegas field. On Thursday, he put up 36 points and nine boards in the come-from-behind 88-80 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
Expect McRae to continue shining in big minutes. Earning playing time on an NBA championship roster isn't easy, but McRae will increase his chances even further if he delivers the Cavs yet another trophy.
