Manchester United Transfer News: Bastian Schweinsteiger Exit Talk, Top Rumours
Turkish champions Besiktas are reportedly preparing a move for Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
A report by the Telegraph's Richard Amofa and Harry Yorke cited "reports in Turkey" linking the Germany international with a move to Besiktas after indications that Schweinsteiger may be part of a "mass clear-out" at Old Trafford by new manager Jose Mourinho.
The Daily Record's Duncan Castles said the former Chelsea boss deems Schweinsteiger "surplus to requirements," along with Juan Mata, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind, and he is looking to move them on to make way for "fundamental" and "supplementary" recruits.

Schweinsteiger, 31, only moved to United from Bayern Munich last summer but endured a frustrating debut season in Manchester under manager Louis van Gaal, with injury ruling him out of action from late March to the end of the campaign.
Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe believes he could play an important role in Mourinho's midfield next season:
And he is one of the few genuinely experienced top-class players in the United squad, having won eight Bundesliga titles and a Champions League during a storied Bayern career.
However, he looked to be past his best playing for United last term, and it seems clear that he is not in Mourinho's long-term plans.
Morgan Schneiderlin, 26, is likely the future main man in the United engine room, as Michael Carrick is also nearing the end of his career at age 34.
If Besiktas come in with a reasonable offer for Schweinsteiger, it seems likely that United and Mourinho would let him go, especially if they manage to snap up Paul Pogba from Juventus.
The Frenchman has been linked with a £100 million move back to his former club, four years on from joining Juventus from United on a free transfer, per Paul Jiggins in the Sun.
At the ESPY Awards on Wednesday, the 23-year-old was noncommittal when asked about his future, but he left the door open for a potential high-profile move to Old Trafford, per ESPN (via the Times' Paul Hirst):
The arrival of Pogba at United would not definitely spell the end of Schweinsteiger at Old Trafford, but it would limit his first-team prospects further, and he may then be open to a move away.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup winner still has a lot to offer, and he could be a brilliant purchase for Besiktas should United indeed be prepared to let him go.
