The last three events were the biggest headliners of the day, beginning with the men's 5000-meter run.
For the fifth time in his illustrious career, Bernard Lagat is headed to the Olympics after winning gold as a 41-year-old.
NBC Olympics showed the end of the race:
His final lap was by far his finest at just 52 seconds. His second-fastest lap during the race was 1:02.71, 10 seconds slower than his last.
It floored United States Track & Field:
Rio will most likely be Lagat's last chance at winning Olympic gold. He won bronze in 2000 at Sydney and silver at Athens in 2004.
Four-time Olympic medalist Justin Gatlin was next to shine in the men's 200-meter race, as he narrowly edged out two-time Olympic gold medalist LaShawn Merritt by 0.04 seconds, via NBC Olympics:
Gatlin has now qualified for two events in Rio, previously winning the men's 100-meter at the trials.
Sunday's schedule ended with the men's 110-meter hurdles, where 21-year-old Devon Allen used a late surge to clinch his ticket to Rio, via NBC Olympics:
Allen is also a wide receiver for the University of Oregon. He became the first current Duck since Andrew Wheating and Galen Rupp in 2008 to qualify for the Olympics, per Oregon Track & Field.
Sunday marks the final day of the Olympic trials, when there will be eight more finals to complete the United States team that will head to Rio.
