Detroit Pistons Beat Miami Heat, 71-58
The Detroit Pistons assumed a 17-point halftime lead and never looked back Thursday as they trounced the Miami Heat, 71-58.
Stanley Johnson led the victors with 20 points, nine rebounds and three steals, and he was fairly efficient from the floor as he shot 7-of-13 overall and 2-of-6 from three.
Johnson's most dynamic bucket of the day came courtesy of a lob in the fourth quarter:
Lorenzo Brown added 11 points, four boards, three assists and three steals, while career journeyman Brandon Davies poured in 10 points and grabbed five rebounds off the pine.
The Heat, who shot just 31.3 percent from the field and 3-of-20 from three as a team, were paced by 14 points from Rodney McGruder and 13 points from 2015-16 standout rookie Justise Winslow.
Josh Richardson (11 points) and Briante Weber (10 points) were the only other Miami players who finished in double-figures.
