
Track and Field 2016 Olympic Trials: Saturday Live Results and Analysis
Some of the top names in American track remained on the path to qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Allyson Felix, Trayvon Bromell and Ashton Eaton all set themselves up to earn a spot on the Olympic team in the coming days.
Felix qualified second for the women's 400 meters final in a time of 50.31. She finished three-hundredths of a second behind the top mark set by Francena McCorory.
Bromell set the top time in the qualifying heats of the men's 100 meters. He ran 9.94, while Christian Coleman and Tyson Gay also ran under 10 seconds.
Eaton won the first two events of the two-day men's decathlon. The defending Olympic gold medalist sits seconds after four events.
Three sets of athletes secured spots on the plane to Rio in the women's 10,000 meters, women's long jump and women's discus throw on Saturday.
Molly Huddle dominated the women's 10,000 meters from start to finish, while Emily Infeld and Marielle Hall finished behind her to earn trips to Brazil.
Whitney Ashley won the women's discus throw with a heave of 204 feet, two inches. Shelbi Vaughan and Kelsey Card will join her as American representatives at the event in Rio.
Brittney Reese used a massive leap of 23 feet, 11 3/4 inches to win the women's long jump competition. Tianna Bartoletta and Janay DeLoach earned second and third, respectively.
