Wales vs. Belgium: Live Stream, Odds and Form Guide for Euro 2016

Christopher SimpsonJun 30, 2016

Wales and Belgium will face off in Lille, France, on Friday for a place in the final four of UEFA Euro 2016, and one of them will make history.

The Red Devils haven't made the semi-finals of the European Championship since 1980, while Wales have already equalled the quarter-final finish they managed at the 1958 FIFA World Cup—the only other major tournament they've qualified for.

There's plenty of recent history between the two sides with Wales taking four points off Belgium in the qualifying group, but the Red Devils appear to be gathering momentum after winning their last four games with an aggregate score of 8-0.

First Goalscorer: Eden Hazard 6-1

Despite enduring a largely torrid campaign for Chelsea, Eden Hazard has finally begun to live up to his reputation with the national team this summer.

He found form at the right time—netting four goals in the Blues' last five games of the season—and has carried that on into the tournament. BeIN Sports' Matteo Bonetti hailed his performance against Hungary in the last round:

Indeed, as WhoScored.com revealed, Bonetti's opinion was well-founded:

With the playmaker in such exceptional form, he could be worth backing at 6-1 as the first goalscorer in the match, per Oddschecker.

The 25-year-old was a fitness concern for the Wales match but seems likely to be fit, per the tournament's official Twitter feed:

The Dragons were able to successfully stifle Belgium in both qualifying matches, but their opponents have been prolific at the tournament so far—it will take a monumental effort to do so again.

First Goalscorer: Aaron Ramsey 12-1

For those wanting to back a slightly more left-field option, Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey might be a bet to consider.

Like Hazard, the Arsenal midfielder had an underwhelming domestic season, but he has been much more dynamic for Walesmobile in the middle, winning the ball and supporting attacks.

As WhoScored.com revealed, Ramsey has been effective in breaking up the opposition's play at the tournament:

After regaining the ball, the 25-year-old will look to spark counter-attacks, and as he showed with his well-taken strike against Russia, he can finish if picked out in a goalscoring position.

Further, Belgium will be missing Jan Vertonghen after he suffered an ankle injury:

Dragons boss Chris Coleman believes Wales must concentrate on their own game plan, however, per Sky Sports' Michael Kelleher:

"

He's a good player, an outstanding performer, if he misses the game it's a big loss, but they have so much talent, but we can't look past ourselves.

We only concentrate on ourselves. And we need to do that. We need to ensure there's a high level or urgency about us. Once we get that right we know we can be in the game. I don't know who is available, I just know about us.

"

Nevertheless, with Vertonghen out and Thomas Vermaelen suspended for the game, Belgium's defensive solidity could be seriously compromised, presenting an opportunity Wales can capitalise on.

The likes of Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Bale are naturally more likely to grab the first goal—as reflected in their 4-1 and 5-1 odds respectively, but Ramsey makes for a worthwhile outside bet.
