
Swimming 2016 Olympic Trials: Monday Live Results and Analysis
Headlined by 19-year-old phenom Katie Ledecky, six swimmers secured a spot in the 2016 Rio Olympics on Monday night during the U.S. Olympic trials.
Ledecky flirted with breaking her own 400-meter freestyle world record. Although she fell just short, Ledecky and Leah Smith qualified for Rio. Kelsi Worrell and Dana Vollmer will represent the United States in the 100-meter butterfly, while Kevin Cordes and Cody Miller claimed a place in the 100-meter breaststroke.
Other favorites like Missy Franklin and Ryan Lochte advanced to the finals in their events.

Tuesday will include finals for the men's 100-meter backstroke (David Plummer, Ryan Murphy and Matt Grevers) and 200-meter freestyle (Conor Dwyer and Lochte).
Additionally, Day 3 of the trials will feature the women's 100-meter backstroke (Olivia Smoliga, Franklin and Natalie Coughlin) and 100-meter breaststroke (Lilly King, Molly Hannis and Katie Meili).
