Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest Neymar and Paul Pogba Rumours

Stuart NewmanJun 26, 2016

Neymar's father has fired Real Madrid a warning by saying there's absolutely no chance of the striker heading to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium this summer.

The Barcelona star's future has come under the spotlight in recent months, with agent Wagner Ribeiro telling Radio Jovem Pan (via International Business Times) he has three big offers on the table.

However, when asked by Fox Sports Brasil about whether or not his son could head to Real Madrid, Neymar Sr. said "the possibility of him ending up there is zero"—via James Whaling of Daily Mirror.

He went on to explain that the Catalan giants will have the final say on Neymar's future and that he's happy at the club:

"

Neymar's owners are Barcelona. Any proposals, any notifications, or any formality that comes in respect to Neymar, without question passes through Barcelona and Barcelona alone.

[...]

Neymar has a contract at Barcelona, and he has two years left. That's the only certainty. He has to obey that contract—besides, he's happy at the club.

The speculation will go on, like it has been for a while, but everyone's used it by now.

"
Barcelona's Brazilian forward Neymar arrives to a training session at the Sports Center FC Barcelona Joan Gamper in Sant Joan Despi, near Barcelona on April 16, 2016, on the eve of the final of the Copa del Rey (King's Cup) match FC Barcelona vs Sevilla F

Earlier this month, Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez insisted that the club have no ambition to sell Neymar and they are confident they will sign him to a new contract, per Sky Sports.

The Brazilian was one of the standout performers in La Liga last season, forming a formidable partnership with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi in the Barcelona attacking line.

It's no surprise that Neymar is attracting plenty of attention, and Real Madrid could well be in a position to bring him in.

According to reports in Spain (via David McDonnell of Daily Mirror), James Rodriguez could be heading to Manchester United for £50 million—giving Real the platform to launch a big offer.

Still, unless the Brazilian has a big change of heart and gets the nod of approval from his family, he'll be staying put at Barcelona.

Elsewhere, Real manager Zinedine Zidane has hinted the club could chase Juventus star Paul Pogba after Euro 2016.

The midfielder is currently on international duty with host nation France, and while he hasn't exactly set the tournament on fire thus far, he's one of the most sought after footballers in the world for a reason.

And it seems Real are planning on stealing a march on the competition when Pogba returns to Turin, as when Zidane was asked if Madrid were going to go after Serie A players, he remained coy, according to Agustin Martin of AS (via ESPN FC): "At this very moment none, but within a few weeks you'll know."

Pogba is likely to command an astronomical transfer fee if he makes the switch to Real, and whichever club makes the first move could well get him on their books.

Real Madrid are yet to sign a player ahead of the 2016/17 season, and fans will demand a marquee transfer that will help them regain the Liga title.

The likes of Neymar or Pogba would certainly get supporters' pulses racing, although defensive reinforcements could well be Zidane's first transfer mission.
