US Open Golf 2016: Start Time, Live Stream, TV Schedule, Odds and Predictions
Jordan Spieth will battle with Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and the rest of the field when he attempts his defense of his title at the 2016 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club.
Spieth was able to win his first U.S. Open championship at Chambers Bay in 2015, but his play has been inconsistent as of late. He will need to find his game, as Day has been excellent this season.

Phil Mickelson Will Become a Factor
Phil Mickelson's best days seem to be behind him.
The 45-year-old has not won a tournament since 2013, which is a far cry from the form that saw him win five career majors. However, the conditions are right for Mickelson to put on a revitalized performance.
He has looked solid in recent outings, as he finished fourth at the Wells Fargo Championship in May and shot 10 under at the Memorial Tournament in early June. He was in contention at the FedEx St. Jude Classic, finishing tied for second.
The U.S. Open has always eluded Mickelson, and he was the runner-up six times in his career. As age starts to become a factor, this may be Mickelson's best remaining shot at capturing the tournament title.
The greens at Oakmont are typically fast, but Mickelson has putted well as of late. He nailed this long putt at the St. Jude Classic, courtesy of the PGA Tour:
Mickelson acknowledged this part of his game after his round Saturday, per CBS Sports' Kyle Porter:
"I need to strike it like I did last week, said Mickelson. It's very close. Rhythm has been a little bit quick. The transition has been quick. I've managed it so far and I've been putting really well. Giving myself a few six to 10-footers I should be able to capitalize on those the way I've been putting.
[...]
My critical putts from 10 feet and in are really the putts that you need to make to keep rounds going, to get up into contention. Those are the ones that can go either way, and I've made a lot of them this year. So, that gives me a lot of confidence heading into the treacherous greens at Oakmont.
"
Expect Mickelson to feel plenty motivated to win this tournament. He may not get the victory, but he will have a say on the outcome.
Day and Spieth Will Pace the Field
Day was in position to win the tournament last year, as he held a share of the lead after three rounds. Yet, he was overcome by symptoms of vertigo and fell out of contention.
He is playing well this season with three victories and six top-10 finishes. Day also leads the tour in earnings and FedEx Cup standings points on the year. His most recent win came at The Players Championship in May.
Spieth has been a bit more inconsistent since his final-round collapse at the Masters. He missed the cut at the Players, but he bounced back to win the Dean and DeLuca Invitational two weeks later.
The 22-year-old plays his best at major tournaments. He has finished in the top five in each of his past five major tournaments, including wins at the 2015 Masters and last year's U.S. Open.
Spieth and Day are arguably the best golfers in the world over the past year, and they look primed to once again be significant contenders. McIlroy is often mentioned as one of golf's elite, but he has yet to win this season while netting five top-10 finishes.
McIlroy has not been totally on his game in 2016, and he certainly is not playing as well as Day or Spieth. The Northern Irishman is not a safe pick, as Day and Spieth will fight atop the leaderboard throughout the weekend.
