Belmont Stakes Picks 2016: Examining Latest Vegas Predictions and Odds
The 148th Belmont Stakes is just one day away, and 13 horses will compete for the honor of winning the longest jewel of the Triple Crown.
There will be no Triple Crown this year after Exaggerator upset Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist at the Preakness Stakes, which means the Belmont Stakes will lack some drama. In fact, Nyquist isn't even competing in New York on Saturday.
But Exaggerator is, and he headlines the field as we take a look at the post positions and morning line, courtesy of the official Belmont Stakes website:

The Preakness winner is the clear favorite—and deservedly so given his past performances. If you look at most of his past races, you'll see a horse who can clinch a race with blazing speed down the home stretch.
He first showed off his late surging ability on a big stage with his come-from-behind win at the Santa Anita Derby:
While he didn't win the Kentucky Derby, he was the only horse in the field who was able to give Nyquist a minuscule scare in the final strides with a late charge.
It all came together at the Preakness, as a sloppy track allowed him to stay close with the pack and overwhelm the field, including Nyquist, in the home stretch:
Now, with Exaggerator set to take on the 1.5-mile Belmont track, he'll have a longer venue to move throughout the field, make his explosive move and build a big lead.
If he's within a length or two of the leader after the mile and all goes to plan, he could win this race by 10 lengths.
