Hertl Comments on Recovery
Monday, June 13
Hertl told reporters he will not need surgery on his injured right knee.
Hertl's Recovery Vital to Sharks' Attempts to Return to Cup Final
The 22-year-old flourished on San Jose's top line with veterans Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski. He was fourth on the team with 46 points this season (21 goals, 25 assists) and one of the Sharks' biggest threats in the postseason.
Hertl scored six goals and added five assists in the postseason, including a goal in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. He hit the post on three separate occasions in Game 2 as well but couldn't find the back of the net as the Sharks dropped to a 2-0 deficit in the series:
Hertl showed his value to the Sharks this postseason and will be a big key next season as San Jose tries to get over the hump and capture an elusive championship.
