Manchester United Transfer News: Memphis Depay Talks Future, Louis Van Gaal Exit
Memphis Depay does not believe Louis van Gaal's sacking as Manchester United manager will affect his future at the club, and the Netherlands international is confident he will remain at Old Trafford.
According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf (h/t football writer Elko Born) he said:

Per De Telegraaf (h/t Samuel Luckhurst, James Dixon and Rob Pollard of the Manchester Evening News), he expanded on his relationship with Van Gaal: "A love-hate relationship? I don’t know. And now he leaves, as things go in football, as in life. And you learn and you become stronger."
Van Gaal brought Depay to United last summer in a £25 million deal, per ESPN FC. The 22-year-old arrived with a big reputation thanks to his price tag and having bagged 28 goals and eight assists for PSV Eindhoven the previous season.

However, he struggled for much of the campaign and finished his debut year with United having accrued just seven and six respectively, and he failed to make Van Gaal's matchday squad for the FA Cup final.
Football writer Liam Canning believes he can still become a success at Old Trafford, though:
Jose Mourinho is widely expected to replace Van Gaal in the hot seat at United, as noted by Sport Witness. Bleacher Report UK is eagerly anticipating his arrival:
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher believes Mourinho will return the Red Devils to winning ways:
Indeed, per OptaPaolo, he has an incredible record in the Premier League even after his disaster with Chelsea last season:
Depay will seemingly welcome the Special One if he is appointed, according to De Telegraaf (h/t Sport Witness): "If the arrival of Mourinho becomes official, I'll ask Wesley Sneijder what kind of man he is. That's interesting. It all sounds so, but it is not yet official."
When the Dutch newspaper revealed Sneijder once expressed that "Mourinho was the best coach he'd ever worked under," Memphis said: "That's a nice prospect."
The forward will need to step up his game next season, particularly if the Portuguese arrives, as he is not afraid to drop or sell big players. Juan Mata was Chelsea's player of the year for two seasons running before Mourinho's return to Stamford Bridge, and he duly moved him on.
Depay is still young, though, and he has shown glimpses of his talent at United, particularly in the latter half of the season.
If he can add consistency to his game and make more incisive contributions more regularly, he can still become an excellent player.
