Preakness 2016: Post Time, TV Schedule, Post Positions Info
The horse racing world will descend on Baltimore for the 141st Preakness Stakes this coming Saturday with an opportunity to witness the pursuit of history.
After winning the first jewel of the Triple Crown at Churchill Downs in the Kentucky Derby earlier this month, Nyquist has an opportunity to take the second jewel at the Preakness and set up a chance to become the second horse in as many years to win horse racing's Triple Crown.

All eyes are going to be on Nyquist, though, whose impressive victory at the Kentucky Derby has him as the solid favorite to win the Preakness. Here's footage of his win in Kentucky, via NBC Sports:
While Nyquist is a powerful and consistent enough horse to win this race, the chances of winning will diminish the further he goes outside.
The Preakness (1 3/16 miles) is a shorter race than the Kentucky Derby (1 1/4 miles), giving horses posted on the outside a limited opportunity to make a move inward and toward front of the pack.
However, it would still be hard to bet against Nyquist, given his ability to start fast, maintain a high speed and then hit another level to finish.
Had this been a longer race, Exaggerator could have been considered more of a threat, given the way he closed down Nyquist toward the end of the Kentucky Derby. But he won't have enough real estate to repeat that.
If Nyquist were to win, he'd improve to 9-0 with just the Belmont Stakes separating him from horse racing glory. He could truly spoil horse racing fans, as they would see two Triple Crown winners in as many years after waiting 37 for just one.
